Miss E & I went to see Disney on Ice yesterday afternoon! What a great show! We both liked the Little Mermaid portion the best, but Peter Pan was really good, too! I hope everyone had a good weekend & that your Monday Blues won't be too severe.

This is my latest version to the Dandy-Ball... Which I used dandelion again, with a few bits of plant leaves placed in a small dish and for the background, I used the back of a small red transistor radio, that seemed to create the effect of a lifebuoy, in the way I positioned the angle of the kaleidoscope front lens!
Having fun and got lost in a kaleidoscopic world...

I used my 100mm macro lens plus 36mm and 12mm extension tubes so I could get really close to the dandelion. The beauty of nature never disappoints when you slow down to examine the details. I know that dandelion images are overdone but I just can't help shoot them when I find them. What is a photo subject that you can't resist shooting?
A fitting photo to end a week with Dad off work. We did a lot of walking and ball-chasing in the fields around our house, which was just dandy as far as I'm concerned!

Three off-camera lights. My steady-handed spouse dropped the vegetable glycerin onto the seed heads, after I managed to mess the light table thoroughly.
I was hoping to take a portrait of my nephew, but shooting at high noon was not a good idea. I found this instead. At 3-4 inches wide and 4 feet high, she looks much softer and delicate close-up than she did on the side of a driveway.
Dandelions are cliche, no?

After a photo of the female Mandarin duck, here is the male. It's hard to believe that their colours get even more intense during mating season. For the moment they don't have to impress anybody and live rather peacefully in a larger group of Mandarins.
Taken from the perspective of an ant on the ground as the rising sun passes through the centre of the seeding Dandelion.

With Pancolar, as it is the case with the most of other lenses, the bokeh changes with distance from the object and the background. Come close enough, and it is smooth and silky with no swirl whatsoever.
Shoot in direct sunlight. Lot of boosting in RawTherapee is done to get back contrast and colors, but the information was there in the raw file.
