Lensbaby Composer, Sweet 50 Optic, Probably f/5.6 with 20mm Extension Tube. Edited in X3

It's that time of the year again...the spring flowers are out..... time to get down low and play with bokeh.

I reversed into a parking space facing B&M in Fort William. I glanced left and right to check I had left enough room on either side. And that's how I spotted Dandy, the ten year old female cockapoo sat patiently in the front seat of their car waiting for her Scotrail train driver 'dad' from Mallaig to return. She sat so patiently, her face a picture of beauty amidst the busy car park choked by tourist traffic and camper vans. What beautiful nature's cockapoos have

Dandelion.

I played with this one a while back, and as I haven’t much time today I thought I’d post if for Sliders Sunday. I keep hoping I’ll have time to publish some normal images…

I think this one works because it is still recognisable as a dandelion. It’s a bit of a cliched subject so I thought I would wave the old wand.

Very simply as it turns out. All it took was the original copied once and inverted and then blended back to the original with luminosity.

All the solarisation and posterisation was achieved using a single curves adjustment layer acting on the inverted pixel layer in LAB mode. Inverting the luminosity curve in places caused the solarisation and mucking about with the A and B channels changed the colours.

One final tweak with an HSL adjustment layer to brighten the result and change the colours to something more surreal and there we are. So one layer duplicated and two adjustment layers…

(OK, not quite true. I added the usual border for Sliders Sunday using layer Fx.)

I’ll post the original in the first comment along with a snapshot of what it looks like before the HSL adjustment and showing the curvy LAB curves adjustment (grey: luminosity channel curve; green: A colour channel; magenta: B colour channel). I am rather hoping to encourage other folk to try having some of this kind of fun too :)

Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Have a happy Sliders Sunday and the rest of the week too :)

Two of my favourite things! Dandelions and Hairy shieldbugs! :-)

Another shot of the mountain King of the Continent. Hope you're not getting tired of Denali shots. As you can imagine I was enthralled and took several hundred shots of it from various perspectives.

"Denali has a summit elevation of 20,310 feet (6,190.5 m) above sea level, making it the highest peak in North America and the northernmost mountain above 6,000 meters elevation in the world. Measured from base to peak at some 18,000 ft (5,500 m), it is also the largest of any mountain entirely above sea level. Denali rises from a sloping plain with elevations from 1,000 to 3,000 ft (300 to 910 m), for a base-to-peak height of 17,000 to 19,000 ft (5,000 to 6,000 m). By comparison, Mount Everest rises from the Tibetan Plateau at a much higher base elevation. Base elevations for Everest range from 13,800 ft (4,200 m) on the south side to 17,100 ft (5,200 m) on the Tibetan Plateau, for a base-to-peak height in the range of 12,000 to 15,300 ft (3,700 to 4,700 m)." Take that Everest!

This is the color version of one of the black and white Dandy Curls series from last month.

Same iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens kit as usual and edited on the iPad first in Snapseed for square crop.

Then into Oggl for the color version using the Americana Lens and Blanko Freedom13 Film.

Once I get into Oggl it seems I can stay there for hours developing lots of versions of each photo. My poor old iPad is groaning under the weight of all my versions.

AHA, but which is FINE and which is DANDY? LOL.

For the most part, carnations express love, fascination, and distinction.

In the Victorian language of flowers,it symbolises gallantry.

Light red carnations represent admiration, while dark red denote deep love and affection.

Purple carnations indicate capriciousness. In France, it is a traditional funeral flower, given in condolence for the death of a loved one.

In France and Francophone cultures, carnations symbolise misfortune and bad luck.

Have a gentle day and thank you for viewing, Magda (*_*)

Is this the most hipster coffee cup in Britain? The name, the deliberate lo-fi font on top, Alternate Gothic No 2 below, the strapline. All pure hipster. All of which is a good thing; the more independent coffee, the better. Unless there's stray beard hairs in it. Ew.

With thanks to the originator and grandmaster of these, Sean Batten; once you start to notice these finds, you can't unsee them. Even if it means you hold people up at the car park pay machine.

for the love of bokeh

As much as I despise these weeds in my yard, they have a delicate beauty when they go to seed.

I had already made my mind up to get a close shot of a dandelion seed head. It was pretty windy and most of the seeds had blown away before I got the shot. This is all that was left by the time I got the camera set up.

It made my first Explore front page and achieved 1,000 views in 10 days.

A darling Savannah Sparrow eating Dandelion seeds.

It didn't get invited to the Met Ball but this dandy of a Bearded iris strutted its colors regardless.
