What I find funny about the Common Redshank is its demeanour. Something about the way it walks on its high legs - so smoothly! And also because of the way it finds it food - looking at the ground, and only, when necessary, digging in the mud or the sand. Such a dandy!
Photographed in Wasatch County, Utah.

I don't care what anybody says, as long as their not growing in my lawn, Dandelions and just fine with me! Such a pretty yellow!
The ubiquitous dandelion - 'almost past it' seedhead; I liked this one against the yellow.

That's Drumburgh station on the Silloth line closed 1955. This was the Jct for the line to Port Carlisle that stopped using Horse Dandy's around 1914 reverting to steam until the line closed in 1932.
I scanned the pic from an original Photograph.
Gotta love weeds. They are the only thing blooming in my yard right now. This is the underside of a dandelion gone to seed, with the yellow from a live dandelion refracted in the waterdrops and in the bokeh. The purple is some grape hyacinth mixed in the dandelion patch. The top of the waterdrop shows the dandelion and grass, and the bottom of the drop shows the sky and the sun. (Refractions are upside down)

Been a long week... Have a lot of catching up to do on Flickr.... :)
Carol, my grandparents neighbor brought Dandy by so Carrie could go for a ride. I used to ride Dandy when I was little too. :)

AHA, but which is FINE and which is DANDY? LOL.
For the most part, carnations express love, fascination, and distinction.
I love the drama here created by the purple edges and all the frilly detail in those 'feathered' beauties...
It is the Carnation, very fragrant...
In the Victorian language of flowers it symbolises gallantry.
Light red carnations represent admiration, while dark red denote deep love and affection.
Purple carnations indicate capriciousness. In France, it is a traditional funeral flower, given in condolence for the death of a loved one.
In France and Francophone cultures, carnations symbolise misfortune and bad luck.
Have a gentle day and thank you for viewing, Magda (*_*)
