Cable car crosses the level grade at Mason Street (which carries the Powell and Hyde line) on its way down Nob Hill on California Street, San Francisco
Conrail GP-8 rebuild #5450 run south over the Chenango River at at place we called "Stillwater" a couple of miles south of Geene, NY. This is the CR Norwich Local that ran to Binghamton in early morning hours to get interchange traffic for customers in Norwich and Sherburne.
A rather filthy 56105 brings up the rear of the 3J78 08:35 Nunthorpe to Carlisle Yard RHTT working as it crosses the River Wear at Croxdale.
For the record 56113 was at the head of the train (out of shot).

SP 7614 has left Arizona and entered the state of California crossing the Colorado River on a bridge built in 1923. On the left is the Yuma Territorial Prison that I believe was a museum at this time. 8.87

This shot crosses back over the divide and returns to lo-fidelity style digital photography. This monochrome image was taken with a cheap, plastic HL-C Holga lens and shows water running over a ford. A ford is simply a concrete slab typically placed over a stream or creek that lets you drive through the water (unless it’s flooding and becomes impassible). Photographed at Dolliver Memorial State Park in Webster County, Iowa.
