Using negative space of discarded packaging the architectural sea/landscape explore liminality. Crossing The Bar is a reflective, spiritual poem by Alfred Tennyson. Viewers are invited to cross the bar, nautical term as they walk through the installation and observe the images of the printed graffiti ships from Salhouse Church.

Freedom Crossing Monument, Lewiston New York

Freedom Crossing Monument is located on the bank of the Niagara River in Lewiston, New York, and honors the courage of fugitive slaves who sought a new life of freedom in Canada, and to the local volunteers who protected and helped them on their journey across the Niagara River. It was dedicated on October 14, 2009.
It also highlights and celebrates the historical importance of the Niagara River as a gateway to freedom on the Underground Railroad during the mid-19th century.
It was the first project to receive the endorsement of the Niagara River Greenway Commission and the project conception, planning and fund raising was done entirely by volunteers of the Historical Association of Lewiston, Inc., the monument's sponsor. The Association advanced the concept of the monument in 2006.
Primary funding was provided by the Town of Lewiston with Niagara River Greenway Plan funds which were received from the New York Power Authority, and with supplemental private support from the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation and the KeyBank Foundation. No tax dollars were used. Total project cost was $230,000.
These youngsters are crossing the street despite the do-not-walk sign. Well, they would be stupid otherwise since there's no traffic.
The crossing from Fogo to Brava and back to Fogo (Cape Verde Islands), was on a small cargo ship. We think it was initially built as a tug - it was totally without stabiliser and not really suitable for such an open water crossing.
The crossing was one of the roughest I have ever experienced, and certainly one of the wettest.

The church of St Peter at Willersey is a handsome cruciform building, which has evolved throughout the medieval period reaching it's present form in the 15th century when the attractive central tower was built.
Inside it is an intriguing sequence of intimate spaces, having no aisles except the rather cramped one on the north side of the nave. The crossing beneath the tower is especially beautiful, culminating in a vaulted ceiling (added in 1859). The chancel shows Victorian restoration but has some fetching glass.
The church is usually kept open and welcoming to visitors. For more see below:-
