Great afternoon with my Uncle Bill on Thursday photographing his bread pudding recipe for the family cookbook! :)
Louisiana Cookin' from Tabasco Brand Pepper Sauce, the McIlhenny Company, 1988.
A thin little book, but not bad for a manufacturer's promotional. Tabasco is the only name-brand product called for in the recipes; many of these seem to want you to use all the peripheral and related name brands, too.
It also doesn't call for many prepared, canned, or packaged foods, which is a little unusual for cookbooks this age. I like that, though; it gives the cook more flexibility.
Unfortunately, this book does not end well. Like many before it, it ends with senseless violence.

I've been doing some spring cleaning and rearranging, including this new placement of a bookshelf in my kitchen to hold my cookbooks (plus I hung up the Mexican cat tray there). We'll see if I can keep it this neat-looking! (The framed tiles are all 18th century Liverpool Delft.)
the new books I got for Christmas. I've been dyin to get these. Can't wait to start baking & decorating my way thru all of them =)
The boys were flipping through a cookbook from the library this morning, looking for something to try. Blogged here.
