Cookbook design for self published book

I love cookbooks....this is just a portion of our collection.

I took this in the middle of winter. Spring please come soon!

some new, some old

This book is from Japan although the cook is Chinese. It was first published in Japan in 1969 and in 1971 in the US.

Bean thread noodles, dried shrimp, peanuts, toasted coconut, shallots, lime, ginger, and Thai basil, with a peanut sriracha dipping sauce.

Cookbook published as part of Eurovision song contest 2021.

93 page cookbook made in 1948. No doubt a "tourist" cookbook picked up on a vacation to the Keys. Unique recipes pertaining to Key West Florida. Interesting terminology for food in the Keys in 1948. As with any older (pre-2010) cookbook, care should be given when the recipe calls for a can of something (like a small can of evaporated milk) as the number of ounces in a can has decreased since 1948.

The inside of the Portuguese book looks like this.

The muffins and cakes and slices books are highly recommended, the recipes are so scrummy looking!

Testing out iPhone autostitch panorama app again.

My most used cookbooks and heavy as hell mortar and pestle.

3 libros de repostería:

Caprichos de repostería

Tartas a Gogó

Tartas y pasteles de queso

((recomendados al 110% los dos primeros!!))

This one is old... and still one that I go back to.

October 27th, Day 45... This is IT! It's here! The Pioneer Woman Cooks Cookbook! Just released today...

Not one to get terribly excited about cookbooks in general, but this one is fabulous! Written by a woman who has time to be a photographer, cooks wonderful food, creates a fabulous blog, home schools her children... to me she is the epitome of a woman who can do it all! And do it creatively and with flair... I highly recommend her blog.

Enjoy. I hope you get hooked, too!

My absolutely amazing friends bought me the most amazing COOKBOOK (that goes for the book above as well) with amazing recipes and amazing pictures and amazing little cartoons and amazing colours and amazing glossy pages...

Did I mention I have AMAZING friends?

I had old can labels in my collage supplies to decorate the pamphlets and I used recycled cardboard for the covers.

The Victory Binding of the American Woman's Cook Book, Wartime Edition (1942)

I am a full-fledged Tessa Kiros junkie. If you don't know who she is, I highly recommend you look up some of her work.
