Merknad: Theisendammen er en dam i Ilavassdraget, bygd eller oppført på slutten av 1700-tallet av kanselliråd Simon Lorentz Thaysen, som ønsket å sikre sitt møllebruk vanntilførsel. Den 27 mai 1791 brøt den sammen og gjorde stor skade på Ilavassdraget. Fra 1889 brukte vannverket den som vanninntak, men er i dag bare en reservedam med en kapasitet på 2,2 mill. m3 per år.
Den har hatt forskjellige navn opp gjennom årene, Nedre Kobberdammen, Mølledammen, og Bagersætherdammen. I dag brukes den til sportfiske av ørret, gjedde og mort.

I used one of my own presets that I once created in LR (I call it Creative Split Tone 5). I opened up in CS5 and did some mild curve adjustment and I used Lab colors of 40% on the a channel. That's all.

A 60's 70's conrete 25 storey (ish) office block rising up above the new shard development and London Bridge Underground station, which was at the time, having a full on terror scare (not us!), walking around looking at possible things on the shard site we spotted a nice opportunit so took it.
It made for a nice new high view up into central london & the city.
All shot on kodak portra 160NC (my fav, can you tell?).
Not the tallest of towers, but gave great views.
a camera team from WDR (local broadcasting station) is on location taking scenes for a report of a WWII bomb found in the ground of a school. During defusing the traffic was stopped and the nearest buildings had been cleared and the people evacuated.
The following photo was taken twelve hours later at almost the same place.
Different jobs and different times of work.

Bauarbeiten am S-Bhf. Yorckstraße (Großgörschenstraße) - S1 - für den Austauschen der alten Brücken des Gleises Richtung Wannsee / Potsdam finden bereits seit vielen Monaten statt und sind inzwischen abgeschlossen; jetzt ist die Gegenrichtung dran.
Vor vielen Monaten wurde endlich ein Baustellenschild aufgestellt und ein Ende der Bauarbeiten tatsächlich für den 20.12.2014 (!) angekündigt. Lassen wir uns überraschen mit wie viel Verspätung dieses Bauprojekt erledigt wird.
Damit niemand mehr die Terminüberschreitung merkt, wurde Mitte März 2015 das Baustellenschild wieder entfernt!
Inzwischen gibt es Veröffentlichungen, die als Endtermin für die Bauarbeiten das Frühjahr 2015 bzw. September 2015 nennen. Mal sehen was dann stimmt!
Die „Deutsche Bahn AG hat natürlich nicht den Termin geschafft, denn bis zum späten April 2015 sind die Bauarbeiten immer noch nicht beendet! Aber vielleicht warten „Sie“ ja auf die Beendigung der Bauarbeiten im alten „Nordsüd-S-Bahntunnel“ am 3. Mai 2015, um dann alles zusammen wieder freizugeben?!
It looked like this on Monday, July 27. The help and information desk is empty of files and books and is ready for demolition. The new desk will be to the left of this photo. Anyway, despite the dust and noise, people (like me) are still able to go into the library and use their facilities and check out books, DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes and audio books.
Oh, and the clock stopped working some time back. I shot this at two in the afternoon. The library never opens until ten in the morning, one in the afternoon on Sundays.

When we were in Singapore, one could see that there was a lot of construction work ongoing in Singapore. You turn the corner and there would be a cordoned off section where there would be some sort of construction work ongoing. This is construction work happening just next to the Suntec City with a cordoned off plot and at the same time, you can see these high rise buildings that are fully done. Clouds (white ones) are hanging over the sky, not threatening rain for now.
At the time that I am writing this (mid-July 2010) the world famous Wuppertal suspension monorail is out of service. This is due to major reconstruction work most of which has already been finished. But there are some segments of the line which are still awating complete replacement of the trestles and tracks. During the summer holidays of 2010 a very prominent part of the line is being replaced: It is the long curve which leads the trains from the river Wupper into the streets. Happily I'm living within walking distance from the construction site so that I can have a look at what is going on every day.
It's not long before this place is scheduled to open, and some considerable progress has been made. The roof is now on and the windows are in. The pavements and roads are also still churned up by heavy lorries, etc.

Am 12. Juni 2016 war ich mit Freunden im Berliner Bezirk Mittezwischen dem Kupfergraben sowie der Baustelle des „Berliner Schlosses“ bzw. „Humboldtforum“ unterwegs und habe dabei diese Aufnahmen gemacht.

Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) offered their services and facilities and helped with the construction of new buildings as well as providing water, food, clothes and shelter for those who lost everything.

Nederland, Zuid-Holland, Nieuwe Waterweg, 28-09-2014; Functioneringssluiting Maeslantkering. De waterkering in de Nieuwe Waterweg wordt een maal per jaar, voordat het stormseizoen begint, getest. Tijdens het sluiten van de kering ligt alle scheepvaartverkeer naar de Rotterdamse haven stil. Aan de horizon Rotterdam, rechts Callandkanaal en de havens van Europoort. De Maeslantkering sluit normaal gesproken alleen bij dreigende stromvloed en bij een waterstand van 3 meter of meer boven NAP. De kering, onderdeel van de Deltawerken, vormt samen met de Hartelkering de Europoortkering en beschermt Rotterdam en achterland bij extreme waterstanden.

In the tunnel next to my house they are now spending every weekend building stuff - of course they start around midnight and stop in the morning, creating a lot of noise all night long.
A bit stupid because they are going to build a big wall along the railroad so that we won't hear the trains that much anymore.
In reality, I like the view from my place, and I am not bothered by the noise from the railroad, the only thing bothering me is the noise of the builders of the anti-noise wal.
But the construction work is also a nice photo opportunity for my new camera. I am impressed by the pictures I can take at night. For this one I did some level correction and sharpening in Photoshop but it wasn't even necessary. The only things blurry are the things that actually moved during the 1/1.3 seconds the lens was open.
I did not add one of my artsy bevel border thingies because I am still in the process of finding out how that is done in Photoshop...

Sometimes even construction vehicles get stuck in the mud. Here Mark Bradley, of Boh Bros. Construction Co., observes a truck being pulled from the muck on Highland Road near Interstate 10. Boh Bros. Construction Co. is leading a design-build team that is widening I-10 to six lanes between Siegen Lane and Highland Road.
