Merknad: Theisendammen er en dam i Ilavassdraget, bygd eller oppført på slutten av 1700-tallet av kanselliråd Simon Lorentz Thaysen, som ønsket å sikre sitt møllebruk vanntilførsel. Den 27 mai 1791 brøt den sammen og gjorde stor skade på Ilavassdraget. Fra 1889 brukte vannverket den som vanninntak, men er i dag bare en reservedam med en kapasitet på 2,2 mill. m3 per år.
Den har hatt forskjellige navn opp gjennom årene, Nedre Kobberdammen, Mølledammen, og Bagersætherdammen. I dag brukes den til sportfiske av ørret, gjedde og mort.

What is going on here? Well, these are temporary supports which are needed when the remaining old trusses of the monorail right-of-way are being taken down and new ones are set up. This is part of a huge renovation project which started in 1995. The complete infrastructure of the 13.3 km long monorail line had to be replaced after 100 years of service. About 95% of this undertaking have already been finished. As of July 2012 the dismantling and reconstruction of the eastern terminus of the line has begun. This includes the renewal of the train shed with the storage sidings. The shed will be replaced by a modern construction which will be designed more or less in the traditional style. It will be much longer than the existing hall.
I could be wrong but this is/was locally known as the Long Stone. If you search for the “Long Stone” in Google it is most likely that you will find information relating to a local pub rather than this sculpture
The Steine structure was erected in 1986 and was sculpted by Cliodhna Cussen. It was removed for a few years because of construction works associated with the new Luas cross-city tram service. The original installation included a granite inscribed plaque and a bronze plaque on a circular shaft set into granite setts arranged in eight circular bands around the principal granite shaft. The last time I photographed this the bronze plate was missing but the granite setts are still missing.
The stone is erected on a site near which stood a famous Long Stone or Steine / Steyne standing 12-14 feet high and erected by the Viking inhabitants of Dublin in the 10th or 11th centuries.
The River Liffey was much broader then and the stone actually stood close to the shoreline and perhaps marked a landing place.
The 3.35m high granite shaft is carved with two faces, one of which represents Ivor the first Viking King of Dublin who ruled in the 9th century. The other face is that of a nun and commemorates the convent of St. Mary Hogges, which stood nearby in the middle ages.

Bauarbeiten am S-Bhf. Yorckstraße (Großgörschenstraße) - S1 - für den Austauschen der alten Brücken des Gleises Richtung Wannsee / Potsdam finden bereits seit vielen Monaten statt und sind inzwischen abgeschlossen; jetzt ist die Gegenrichtung dran.
Vor vielen Monaten wurde endlich ein Baustellenschild aufgestellt und ein Ende der Bauarbeiten tatsächlich für den 20.12.2014 (!) angekündigt. Lassen wir uns überraschen mit wie viel Verspätung dieses Bauprojekt erledigt wird.
Inzwischen gibt es Veröffentlichungen, die als Endtermin für die Bauarbeiten das Frühjahr 2015 bzw. September 2015 nennen. Mal sehen was dann stimmt!
Sollten Sie doch noch bis zum 20. Dezember 2014 fertig werden? Die „Deutsche Bahn AG hat natürlich nicht den Termin geschafft, denn bis Anfang März 2015 sind die Bauarbeiten immer noch nicht beendet! Aber vielleicht warten „Sie“ ja auf die Beendigung der Bauarbeiten im alten „Nordsüd-S-Bahntunnel“ am 3. Mai 2015 ab, um dann alles zusammen wieder freizugeben?!

Mozambican children watch as Marines with Bravo Company, 4th Marine Logistics Group, 6th Engineer Support Battalion, and soldiers with the Armed Forces for the Defense of Mozambique (FADM) repair a local school Aug. 3, 2010. The U.S. Marine engineer battalion is in Mozambique as part of Exercise SHARED ACCORD 2010, a 10-day exercise designed to build U.S. Africa Command partner nation capacity for peace and stability operations. The SA10 task force of more than 700 service members will also be working to provide humanitarian civic-assistance and engineering projects.

Part of the restoration of Chesterfield Canal north of Staveley involves the construction of a bridge to allow farm vehicles to get across the restored canal. The view is of shuttering for concrete walls of the canal and which also support the bridge.

What you see is an extrem rare picture in my Archiv - we are looking at the Konstruktion Installation Keys of the Berlin Reichstag! There were only 13000 of them and I own approximate 2400 therefrom - the rest is probably in the Stock of the Bundestaginstitutions or end up at a Dump..?
Fakt is that a lucky blink of Koincidence give them to me, after the Members of Parliament moved over to Berlin (like the rest of the World does in those days...) back in 2002, they march in the Paul-Löbe-Building at the Dorotheenstreet in Mitte and the Reichstag himself gets his final Key-Installation - so everyLock and all the Keys were removed and replaced by the final Sekurity-Installation!
It was a Skulpture later, done for the Keyholders at the Bundestag Administration...
