Hot pressed Arches paper, Schmincke colors in tubes; composition of various reference photos illustrating the evolution towards A.I. and the ultimate singularity. I lost a little bit the interest in the end to work out a better background or details, took some 12-15h in total. Still fun to do overall.
One of a series of compositions taken for possible inclusion in Week 36 - 'Portrait Orientation' - with the Compositionally Challenged Group.
The composition was composed exclusively for the challenge. Background tidied up with a blur tool, Frame added in Ribbet.
Thursday is bone day for the big cats and other carnivores at the San Diego Zoo. This Malayan Tiger enjoys a femur from a cow for his lunch. The Malayan tiger is a tiger subspecies that inhabits the southern and central parts of the Malay Peninsula and has been classified as Critically Endangered by IUCN in 2015 as the population was roughly estimated at 250 to 340 adult individuals in 2013; this population likely comprises less than 250 mature breeding individuals, with a declining trend
This photo was taken with a few ND's stacked to be able to slow the shutter enough for the movement in the wheel. The side effects of this was an extremely pink/purple cast and some vingetting. Even with my greens pumped right up to the top on Lightroom the cast still effected the overall colours, but somehow, and somewhat luckily, for this shot I really like the 'filmy look' it's given it.
The photo was all about composition and I think I nailed it. I'm leaving all the vignetting and defects in to give it a more really realistic old film, "retro", look. (even though it was taken on a Nikon d90!)

THANKS / Muchas gracias!!
I know the subject is in the center of the pic, but I didn't have much time to compose, because I had to outrun my hiking companion, God rest his soul.
I took a pic of this mountain lion a long time ago in a Bass Pro shop, the taxidermist did quite a good job, don't you think?

I went over the Highland Park today as I figured I'd find some Autumn Crocuses in bloom. Indeed there were some. But look at what else I found - a ready-made composition that an earlier photographer had set up - fall leaves, some fruit from a nearby tree..and...an Autumn Crocus! I didn't see how I could improve on that set-up.
I also felt a nice connection with an unseen photographer. So, whoever you are, I thank you for my picture
