Barn Afloat
In some ways I prefer the soft and varied color of early spring foliage over the brilliant but garish hues of autumn.
This week I look at the spring greens through the compressive perspective of my telephoto lens. Long lens' can simplify compositions and focus attention on the lovely delicate detail of this brief season.

Στα χωράφια της γης να θαυμάζω τη σπορά που φύτρωσε πέταξε λουλούδι όπως λένε, μα μέχρι εδώ είναι όπως φαίνεται το ρου της ιστορίας τους και για παραπέρα κάτι να τους λείπει.
Παλιότερα ήταν και οι δεινόσαυροι μα δεν σκεφτόντουσαν το κάτι παραπάνω πέραν του φαγητού, και η κάθε ημέρα τους ήταν ολόιδια με την προηγούμενη μια στασιμότητα παντού έβλεπες.
Σας υπενθυμίζω τα στάσιμα νερά σας αν τα θυμάστε και πως το νερό ακάθαρτο γίνεται με τον καιρό, κατάμαυρο δηλητήριο στο τέλος που το σιχαίνεσαι και μόνο που το βλέπεις.
Μια βροχή θα μας σώσει λένε από του κάτω κόσμου τη στεναχώρια κι ύστερα το νερό, αχ πόσο θα ήθελα να φτάσει στο μανδύα του πλανήτη γη ολίγον θα έλεγα και μόνο να τον δροσίσει.
Καιρός πολύς δεν του έχει απομείνει και η σχετικότητα των πραγμάτων να ξέρετε πως τον κρατάει ακόμα ζωντανό, μα που δεν φαίνεται όμως κανείς δεν μπορεί να τη δει μα είναι εκεί.
Η φωνή βοώντος εν τη ερήμω ξανά και κανείς δεν την ακούει από μακριά σαν έρχεται, γιατί κρυμμένος είναι ο λόγος τούτος και μέσα στον πλανήτη γη καθώς σκάβει ώστε σώα να τη βρει.
Και θα πρέπει να το γράψω πως εννοώ τη μοίρα του πλανήτη γη κι αν τούτο δεν σας είναι αρκετό η δεν σας αρέσει πως να το πω, τότε στη θέση αυτή να βάλετε τη γυναίκα που αγαπώ.
Ύστερα θέλω να σκεφτείτε της καρακάξες που καμιά φορά μεταμορφώνονται σε άνδρες, και από γυναίκες που ήταν τελικά κυνηγάνε γυναίκες με το στόμα τους όμως γεμάτο βασιλικό πολτό.
Για το τέλος θα αφήσω τα ματιά σας ψηλά στον ουρανό και φυσικά εννοώ το καλοκαίρι που ζούμε προς το παρόν, κι ας ελπίσω το μυαλό του ανθρώπου να αρχίσει να ζωγραφίζει ξανά.
Η γυναίκα που αγαπώ βρίσκεται στον Αύγουστο της μα εγώ στον Σεπτέμβριο μας, κι όπως πάντα στο τέλος ένας είναι αυτός που θα έχει το απόλυτο δίκιο κι άλλος κρεμάμενος στην πυρά.
Μονόδρομος δηλαδή ο δρόμος της αγάπης κι όλα τα υπόλοιπα να παραμένουν προς το παρόν μέσα σε ένα σύμπαν, που κάποιοι εθελοτυφλώντας φυσικά θέλουν να το βλέπουν μέσα στο πουθενά.

John Muir: All the wild world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go, to highlands or lowlands, woods or plains, on the sea or land or down among the crystals of waves or high in a balloon in the sky; through all the climates, hot or cold, storms and calms, everywhere and always we are in God's eternal beauty and love. So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.

As I was looking for the perfect spot to take a picture of the Cedar Creek Grist Mill, I noticed someone more agile than I on the same quest. Then, while trying to choose between landscape and portrait orientation, I decided a Dutch angle would do a better job of capturing the scene.

Vintage 20"Composition Unmark Doll Miss Charming?Brite Star?Shirley Temple Style
1930'S EEGEE - HORSMAN OR IDEAL TOY CO

Note from a seller: Here is a beautiful big 20" doll I believe to be a Miss Charming, Brite Star, Miss Movie or similar doll to look like and compete with Shirley Temple. Probably made by E. Goldberger Co (Eegee), Horsman, Arranbee or even Ideal Toy Co. as one of their knock-off dolls in the early 1930's. I'm not sure who she is as she is not marked but darling and a close ringer to Shirley Temple. She is all composition. She has a very nice dark blonde replaced wig still in the original Shirley type curly set and made by Monique. It is not glued on but fits her very nicely. Her original wig was stapled on as you can see by residue staple holes on her head. This little girl measures 20" tall. She does have a few flaws but being 80+ years old and a play doll she has held up well and in excellent condition. Her face is beautiful with an open mouth and little white teeth but her lips have some rubs with a little loss of color. She has very nice light brown real lashes with just a few missing from the center of the right eye, painted under lashes & brows and heavy eye shadow. Her big amber brown eyes are clear and function well. She does have a little glue residue from her old wig on her face and head, a tiny paint chip on her left cheek and a 1/2" split at the neck in the seam below her left ear. Her body is nice with all fingers and toes and just some very light paint rubs. I really don't see any crazing. She has some blackish rubs on her right wrist where a bracelet or similar item was attached and at her ankles where her socks rubbed.
She has on a vintage replaced dress of pale pink organdy in the Shirley "Baby Take A Bow" dance dress style with a little flower applique on the ruffled collar with a very full skirt trimmed with a pale mint green silk ribbon at the waist. It opens in the back and fastens with snaps. It fits perfect and looks adorable on her!
She is also wearing pink panties with relaxed elastic, a white cotton half underslip trimmed with lace, white rayon knit socks that do have a few holes in them but are clean and I believe original, vintage cream (may have originally been white) suede shoes with a gold medalion inset at the front which are all intact.
