I thought that I would share this with you. Composition plays a major role in every image you shoot. Even a simple headshot. This headshot incorporated the use of the Rule of Thirds, 1/3 - 2/3 Rule, S Curve, Shallow DOF, and a Frame. #learnphotography #photographer #photography #composition #woman #photo
These are four of the many little studies I do just to keep me thinking abstractly. When I turn to realistic subjects, the brain-training that these exercises provide make me automatically pick out the compositional elements that will pull the subject together into a painting.
They are also a good use for mat board scraps. These are about 4.5 X 5 inches and take about ten minutes each. Viewed large they are about actual size.

Πυρ και εγένετο το Φώς και η πρώτη πράξη συνδυασμός πολλών αστεριών, μα ο σωτήρας τους ένας και κρυμμένος παντού μα και φανερός υπό το Φώς των φεγγαριών.
Η σιωπή του το σκοτάδι κι ο χώρος τού αφανής τόσο που αδύνατο να προσδεθείς, κι αν αφεθείς απλώς θα απορροφηθείς όπως απορροφούνται τα πάντα μέσα στο σύμπαν σταδιακά.
Γεμάτο σκοτάδι κι αυτό και το Φώς του λιγότερο πάντα όσο ένα κερί που καίει, μα σιγά σιγά καταναλώνει την αρχική του δομή και έπειτα κανείς δεν ξέρει κανείς ποτέ δεν θα μάθει.
Έπειτα του ποτέ τίποτα και όλα στο πριν κρατούνται ώριμα ωσότου πέσουν κατά γης, και αργά σαπίσουν ζωντανά μελαγχολώντας τους περαστικούς που κάποτε πέρασαν ως ζωντανοί.
Μέσα στο δάσος φυσικά περπατώ γυμνός και με ένα κερί στο χέρι, ώστε τα περισσότερα να μην βλέπω να μην αισθάνομαι γιατί θα σκιαχτώ ως άνθρωπος και θα καταστραφώ.
Ως το σπήλαιο της ζωής μπορείς να το χαρακτηρίσεις που σαν περπατάς μέσα του, είτε μικρό είτε μεγάλο είναι ο κόσμος παραέξω του απέραντος κι απαρατήρητος.
Σαν ένα μικρό ψάρι στη γυάλα ομοίως κι ο άνθρωπος όπως κι αυτό ομοίως, μόνο να βλέπει μπορεί και να παρατηρεί όσο του επιτρέπει η μικρή ζωή που ζει.
Μα όπως και το σύμπαν μας δείχνει το λιλιπούτειο μικρό και πόσο τεράστιο μπορεί να γίνει, κι αν φτάσει απέραντο ν' αποκαλείτε τότε απέραντη πρέπει να είναι και η ψυχή σου.
Τώρα απλώς στο παραμέσα δάσος με το κερί στο χέρι και ένα έχεις παραπάνω δεν χρειάζεσαι, τα περισσότερα σε μπελάδες θα σε βάλουν που δεν μπορείς να αντιμετωπίσεις.
Καλύτερα να μην φαίνεσαι στο σύμπαν παραπάνω του εαυτού σου ωσότου τα κατάλληλα εφόδια βρεις, για να αντιμετωπίσεις αυτό που σύντομα θα δεις μα και θα νιώσεις.
Τους αγνώστους της σιωπής που όλο ψάχνουν και ψάχνουν το κάτι παραπάνω να βρουν, και ύστερα να το χωρίσουν προσπαθούν μεταξύ τους όπως και τα λιοντάρια τη λεία τους.

I love this style. Time to actually explore it a bit. This piece took about 36 hours to render due to having to copy multiple bitmaps to get this beautiful glowfiltered shadow effect. I'd probably go a lot faster just drawing out the shadow in vectors... ah a next step :)

Compositionally Challenged week 43 is Fall - While the challenge is about time of year, a I have my doubts that Sharon has a werewolf in mind. My bad. My glad.
Walmart has their Greeters. Not to be outdone, Lowes has come up with their own.
Every household should have their very own werewolf to greet their Trick-or-Treaters. And for only $112.49 (originally $149.99), you can get yours at Lowes home center. It has a motion sensor that wakes it up when anyone approaches. The head and mouth move. It growls, snarls, and howls. And the eyes glow with a green light. When it greeted me at Lowes today, I was surprised - and laughed out loud with glee. What fun!
