Homework assignment for Anne Edgar's photoshop course - also through the Cambridge Library and Gallery. Top - left is a simple cropped shot; bottom left - spun on an Ikea lazy susan to suggest the turning of a pottery wheel; right - multiple exposures of the vase moved slightly as to overlap, then adjusted, rotated and cropped. All three shots done in a photo box. BTW - there is no Grand River Pottery that I know of - I made it up. www.anneedgarphoto.com/

A composite that I created to be a contextual image for an ePress Release that I wrote, announcing launch of new ionizer model.
2g lighter than stock, after I replaced the barrel adjusters with some from a set of Avid FR-5 levers.
The 9.0SL group from 1999 was made from a carbon fiber-look composite material, but not actually carbon fiber. The brake levers, shifters (which I still use) and sections of the rear derailleur were made of extremely lightweight, yet durable, plastic material, then given a faux weave finish.

This photograph is a part of a model composite I shot in April, 2006. A friend of mine called me the night before and asked me to shoot a friend of his. I had nothing to do the next day so I agreed. Unfortanetly, I was not prepared. I shot 8 entire rolls at one unprecedented location with no lighting, no backdrops, and virtually no prior experience, but I made the best of it and the model was very cooperative. We actually shot at a (recording) studio in Philly!!!
Plz comment, constructive criticism is appreciated...
This is the first 'proper' attempt that I have made at creating a composite image - background from about 18 months ago, foreground (me) from last weekend. Its a pretty rough and ready edit, but I'm quite happy. Hopefully I will be able to refine the results in the near future.
I think the trick is picking a matching background in lighting fashion, this may be a bit dark . . .

Product Photography
Many of my product shots in the past have involved a lot of experimenting, moving things around, and a lot of time and test shots. That, of course, also results in gaining knowledge of what works and what doesn't. I've also been slowly working through "Light Science and Magic".
This shot was rewarding for me because I had a specific plan on how to light these packages before I started setting up anything. I put the setup together on top of the dining room table and made just a couple of very minor adjustments before moving forward with the shoot - and the result was pretty much what I wanted to see.
This image is a composite. The two bottles were shot seperately in position. I did an overlay and a quick mask. If the two bottles had been photographed together there would have been shadows and lots of reflections of one bottle on the other.
Lighting:
SB800 in DIY 28" soft box fired through intermediate diffuser - a white fabric shower curtain. Same setup left and right side.

Black cards behind and on table just outside frame.
All speedlights fired with buff Cybersyncs.
