This composite shot of the James R Thompson Center was not very well planned. I took the picture preceding of the lower portions of the Atrium. I picked a spot to photograph as much of the lower portion as I could. I quickly discovered that to include the entire Atrium in a single picture, I would have to be out in the street somewhere.
So, I moved. I took a picture of the top portion.
It was only when I processed and edited these images that I realized I could put them together.
Unfortunately, I had moved.
The resulting composite worked, but I would call it the James R Thompson Center Composite with a Very Slight Twist.
To see the 3-D, use red/cyan glasses.

OK, taking a chance here. Inspired by one of my contacts' recent upload of a composite, I drove around town and painted these little pieces. Beginning at the upper left, with no idea of what would be next, I made very light and loose pencils with my ebony, then slushed in the color. To me, the beginning looks fresh, immediate and loose and by the end, I think I got tight and muddy. But then, it is only paper - a good reason to try this again. Thanks, Susan.
This is what is produced by a rolling shutter, 1/9 second total exposure time, 2500 RPM.
See this image for what would be expected with an open shutter.
See this image for a similar simulation with a smaller sensor.
I need to find the bearing seat for the drive side to put this wheel together and throw it on my Cannondale Track.
If anyone knows where I could find a bearing seat for the drive side (which has a threaded part, as seen here), I'd greatly appreciate any info I can get.
Pruebas de construcción con papel de una composición Hockney en formato medio. (con photoshop es laborioso, pero en papel es peor aún :) )
Test of construction on paper of a Hockney´s composite in medium format. (with photoshop is laborious, but on paper is even worse :) )
Female "Common Blue" that is. First of all, as it says in the title this is a composite photo.. Although I got several open winged shots of male blues, the females in my garden seemed more skittish and there were less of them. Finally one landed on the ground in a patch of longish grass, near where I was standing. Its wings were fully open but unfortunately one of them was obscured by a thick grass stem. and even with a few different angles I was unable to get a completely clear shot before it took of. So what you see above is a cut and stitch job using just one half of the original photo.
Below is my photo of a male common lue for comparison. Male and female are quite different in looks seen from above.
Thought I'd try my hand at composite, it's the first time I've tried it. Needs a lot of practise, tell me what you think
