So, no, this is not a single image. It would be nice if I could but I haven't been so lucky in real life to see such an interesting mix... The photo is a composite of three images of Sandhill Cranes that I put together using Photoshop and this image is purpose made to go onto a ceramic photo mug. It took some work to clean up - separate the edges of the larger birds in the image from the background. It helps to build a panoramic image to wrap around the mug and since you can't see much of the mug at a glance it helps to have interesting things to see as you turn the mug in your hands. I've found these photo mugs to be excellent gifts and a great way of sharing my images and I only order mugs when they're discounted. I thought I'd share this with my friends on Flickr.
The closeup head shot was taken at Homer, Alaska, while the other two were taken at Creamer's Field in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Just a composite made using 6 shots in a row from a sequence including some of the images I uploaded yesterday. The total sequence was 13 shots but i selected the last 6 for this composite
