Soo what does the Transmilenio cost? The early phase was $5.3 million USD/ km.. For comparison LRTs can range about $15 to $45 million USD/km. More recent phases improvements have cost more (fancy terminals, etc), but for the price of a bare-bones LRT one can have an extremely feature-rich BRT (proper enclosed stations that are universally accessible, pre-paid boarding, etc).
So what about capacity? Well here's a surprising tidbit of information:
The Transmilenio has a capacitiy of over 40,000 ppdph (people per direction, per hour, on a single line. By comparison something like Vancouver BC's new Airport Line has been specified to for a maximum 25,000 ppdph.
The Vancouver line is costing over $200 million per km - but at least it is fully above or below grade and will never suffer from traffic light breaks, or slow-operation-in-the-city like many at grade LRTs. Vancouver at least skipped the surface LRT costs and went straight underground.
How about speed? The average speed of the Transmilenio 26 kmph - not so shabby either.

The white building on the hilltop is the chapel of a former monastary. There is also a restuarant up there. One can either ride the gondola up, or joing the masses who regularly hike up on the weekends (a la grouse grind style). The Monserrate website (English version)
Here are comparison shots of the old Dragon Priest mold (left) vs. the new one (right). I've tagged the old air bubbles and cancers or impurities. You might also notice by the sheen of the new cast how much smoother the new mold is.

Very quick comparison cause it is too hot here to make something better, handling dolls that are so heavy is impossible for me with this damned weather =_=''

Another comparison image with the mystery mandible on top. Middle is a sheep Ovis aries, a ewe which was my first ever sheep skull, collected on 6 March 1971, and which carries my 14 year old handwriting as an aide memoire from when I was learning the parts of the skull bones. The lower mandible is an immature Fallow deer (Dama dama). Note the tricuspid premolar. All seen in the buccal aspect.

Comparison of the skull of a spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta) with a gray wolf (Canis lupus).
The hyena is on the left, the wolf on the right.
Here you can see the differences in their dentition. Note the large amount of open space between the wolf's premolars, and compare it to the very small space between the hyena's premolars.
The hyena has 34 teeth, the wolf has 42. The wolf's jaws are correspondingly longer. The hyena has clearly sacrificed number for size and strength. Its teeth dwarf the wolf's in every way.
Also observe the differences in the height of the blade of the jawbone, testament to the hyena's stronger bite.
A comparison of the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 F mount and Tokina 500mm f/8 mirror Pentax K mount with Nikon F mount adapter both on a Nikon D90.
The Tamron was taken at 50mm from about 0.5m then cropped in whilst the Tokina, fixed at 500mm, was taken from around 5m with no cropping. Both with SB-26 from camera to light.
As you can see, the difference is very noticeable, with the sharpness and contrast of the mirror lens being no match to the Tamron refractive lens, especially as the Tamron is cropped in so far.
The only justifications I can find for the use of the 500mm mirror would be over long distances that just aren't possible to cross, such as for use in sports or astronomical photos and the fact it's only cost me £8 for the lens and £15 for the K/F mount adapter with correcting element against the £320 I paid for my 17-50mm 2.8
I also really like the Bokeh from mirror lenses. I hear a lot of people moaning about it not being an accurate representation of the subjects or else just being distracting, but I think it has to be seen as an artistic tool to been planned into photos.
Just a quick little height comparison of my three dolly types, because I realized I've done one with Fable and Nori and one with Fable and an AG but never all three.
For those who don't know:
Nori is a Feeple60 (55 cm tall)
Davis is an American Girl (18 in. tall)
Fable is a Littlefee (25 cm/ 9 in. tall)

Comparison with original iPhone 3G box. Much smaller now - Apple are really going mad for this eco-packaging.
iPhone 4s camera compared to Nikon D200 with Nikkor 17-55 f2.8 dx lens.
I KNOW it's not really fair and that it's "just a phone", but its still worth comparing to see what the quality is really like rather than just saying "OMG it's 8mp and it's an iPhone so therefore it's awesome!!!!" Megapixels are not everything and don't tell the whole story by a long shot.
This isn't a perfect comparison with precise accuracy but it's close and gives an idea of how good (and bad) the iPhone 4s camera really is. View the largest size to see the details.
Generally I see a LOT more digital noise from the iPhone and highlights are often blown out. This is probably a decision Apple made due to user input. (I sure wish the built-in camera app had exposure compensation!!)
Overall though, this tiny little camera isn't bad and a few generations down the road it'll be pretty amazing.
Totally didn't realize that I didn't upload my box opening + comparisons onto Flickr.
Arms are much shorter than Latiblue, but torso is about the same length.
