The Cackling Goose, the one on the right. Is a smaller compact version of the Canada Goose, the one on the left. Bucks County PA.
... one needs knowledge, a set of skills, good training and a sense of responsibility when getting gas pipes into the ground and making sure that energy arrives at people's homes. This is what we would expect, of course. However, and by comparison, you don't need any of these qualities if you want to become the British Prime Minister. Actually, the moral and intellectual requirements are so refreshingly low these days that any pig having its snout firmly in the trough could apply. And they did. Fuji X-E2 plus Helios 44M-7 at F11.
Here we have the transom of Kaiwo Maku, one of the largest tall ships in the world (361' in length) and passing her on her starboard side is a 18-20' pleasure craft.
Verdict....... absolutely no comparison :-)
Herring Gull (l) and Lesser Black-backed Gull (r). HG - grey back, pink legs, yellowish eyering round pale eye, yellowish gape; LBBG slate-grey back, yellow legs, orange-red eyering round pale eye and orange-red gape.
A Neotropic cormorant on the left (Phalacrocorax brasilianus) and a Double-crested cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus) on the right. The size difference is clearly apparent. Always interesting to get two different versions of the same species in the same image. There are arguably 40 different species of the cormorant / shag species.

If you'd prefer something a little more dramatic for your Wednesday morning, watch this.
I have real fears for poor Lisa Gerrard, as for the pianist, he's toast!
It was never like this for Bobby Crush!
A long-exposure photo taken with my big camera on a tripod and 16 stops of stacked ND filters. I'm sure you'll agree that it's a complicated set-up with lots of different components.
For comparison look at the version below that I snapped instantly with my iPhone 11 using it's inbuilt 'long exposure' mode.
On the iPhone the camera does this trick by automatically taking multiple photos and then electronically combining them into a single image. The iPhone image took just an instant but this one from the big camera took about 10 minutes to set up including the 4 minute initial exposure time and the 4 minute in-camera long exposure noise reduction time.
The iPhone image was processed and posted via the phone's software and the one from the big camera was processed using Photoshop (needs a click on each to see the difference).
Leica M Mono, Leitz Elmar 4/135 at F5.6. The settings for both shots are broadly the same (ISO 2500 corresponds to ISO 1250 on the M8) and I tried to edit both images in the same way as well. I am not trying to demonstrate that rangefinder cameras can do animal photography - we all know that other camera types do better in this regard. The comparison is rather between the old and low resolution M8 and the more advanced M Monochrome. It turns out that in terms of sharpness, the old M8 is still going strong. Resolution is more of a problem, especially at higher ISO settings (so, the M8 would struggle with nature and landscape photography). For portrait and street, in fact for all subjects where roughness is legitimate, the old camera is a wonderful tool. The Monochrome can do all of it and is more open to post-processing intervention.
Snow and Ross Geese side by side for comparison. I've been trying to get a shot like this for years.
Leica M8, Voigtlander AS 2.8/90 (approx. focal length on the M8 would be 120 mm) at F5.6. Please compare image no. 2.
The Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo (also called Palazzo Contarini Minelli dal Bovolo) is a small palace in Venice, Italy, best known for the external spiral staircase, with a plethora of arches, known as the Scala Contarini del Bovolo (or the snail). The palace is located in a less-traveled side-street near the Campo Manin, close to Rialto. The staircase leads to an arcade, providing a charming panoramic view over some of the roof-tops of the city. The palace dates from the 15th century. It was designed and built by architect Giovanni Candi in 1499 (Giorgio Spavento is believed to be responsible for the grand spiral staircase on the exterior)...
Here is unusual comparison of the decoration of the mannequin which I found nearby to palazzo itself with its columns and arches...

Well here is the comparison of the photo of RL and my new pose. Hope you like! I tried to do my best. Adriana, thank you for your patience and cooperation... loviu <3
Just a quick snap to use as an example in another thread. Did not clean before, because I was in a hurry and was not trying to make something beautiful.
Panasonic 35-70mm F/2.8 (1st generation)
OM System 12-40mm F/2.8 II
The OM lens is slightly shorter at it's most compact, but is longer at it's most extended. The Panasonic, however, does not change size as it zooms.
Here you can see the colouring and bill differences between an immature male and an older male Surf Scoter.
The experiment continued this time I think it’s the black and white that wins the day.

All images were shot using the Hasselblad 500v
Because the Hasselblad has an interchangeable back I decided to shoot two Kodak films. Kodak Portra 400 and Kodak Tri X 400 all on a tripod so the framing and lighting would be identical. Light meter readings were all done using the “Viewfinder “app. More on that later
I’m traditionally a black and white kinda guy but I may be exploring a bit more color after this experiment. Each post will have both version for comparison.
Note: these posts will continue into March as I put together next months installments for the project

Dear all, I will find a moment during the day to visit your photo stream, enjoy the day!
I have never done this before, but I had to put these two pictures together so that you can compare the differences. I used the identical prompt in MidJourney and DDT2D and this is the result. Basically I asked for a woman who was not feeling well, sitting in her bed and working on her laptop. I also wanted it in the style of Norman Rockwell. I did MJ first and was disappointed, and then I tried DDT2D and was blown away!
Don't get me wrong, I have had some incredible MJ results, but in this case, DD walks away with the honours!!
Since I had so many pink girls here right now I figured it would be cool to take some comparison pics.

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!
