COMMENT IF YOU FAVOURITE
The putrid smell of damp is the first thing to hit me as I enter the apartment block, filling my nostrils with a slight toxicity.
I climb the stairs to find apartment 72, the location of the distress call.
Ending up on the third floor, I pass apartment 70, then eventually come to number 72.
The putrid smell, even stronger now, fills my nostrils again as I extend my arm out to knock the door.
"Police. You called about a disturbance?"
Nothing, just silence.
"Hello? Sir, are you there?"
A rough voice pierces the silence outside the door.
"It's open."
Taking his statement as a request, I twist the door handle and enter the apartment. The smell inside was much like the smell outside, only far more severe.
"Hello?"
"In here."
I make my way carefully towards the sound of the voice, careful not to trip up on all the debris that litters the floor.
I walk through what appears to be some attempt at a lounge, then come out into a small kitchen area.
"Sit down and don't say a word."
Taken by surprise, I look ahead to see a man, dressed in dishevelled clothes with scraggly brown hairs hanging down his face, pointing a small gun directly at me.
"I said sit."
Careful not to disobey him and cause trouble, I pull up a small chair and, as he had requested, sit in silence.
"Good. Now all we gotta do is wait."
I know I could defeat him instantly, but in order to do so I would have to compromise my human identity, and if Ethan was to suddenly follow me up...
"You're gonna protect me."
Curious as to what he is saying, I speak.
"What do you mean?"
"You're gonna save me from...her."
I frown, and speak in an attempt at sarcasm.
"I was not aware I'd be saving anyone today. I came here to address a disturbance."
The man, taking a step closer, laughs.
"Oh, there was a disturbance, alright. I weren't lying."
"Do you mind explaining a little more?"
He squats down, coming eye level with me.
"Sure. I was here, mindin my own, y'know? Then outta nowhere, there's this knock at the door. A loud one at that. And this knock sounds real pissed off."
He pauses.
"So I answer it, and there's this blonde woman at the door. She's dressed pretty damn scruffy like, and looks kinda old. So I ask: "What do you want?", then she bursts in and swings at me. And shit, it's a strong swing."
I interrupt his tale.
"I still am yet to understand why this requires me to be held at gunpoint."
"I ain't done. She then starts shoutin', speaking all proper-like, a bit like you. She's saying she's gotta leave a message for someone real important. Figurin' that that message was a corpse, I go for my gun,"
He nods down towards the weapon in his hand.
"And get ready t'kill her. I go back to face her, then, and I dunno if somthin' I'd been smokin' was screwin' my head around, but she stood there, as clear as goddamned day, and her arm turned green."
Another pause.
"She took another swing at me, with sharp nails this time, and I try and shoot her. By now she's movin' like some sorta alien-monster thing, dartin' in an out of my shots. Then, she goes through my living room window to escape. Now, that's a three-floor drop, so you can guess I was pretty mind-fucked when I saw she'd gone without a trace, almost like she'd flown off or somthin'."
Feeling as though his rambling was getting me nowhere yet again, I spoke up.
"So why do you need me to "protect" you?"
A grin spreads across his face.
"Well I figured; If she, it, comes back and still wants to leave this special someone a message, she could use the first dumbass cop who shows his face."
He stands back up and laughs.
"Just a shame that guy's gotta be you."
He walks back to where he was previously stood, and I still refrain from using my abilities to escape.
But before I can begin my escape, there comes a sound from behind me, and I suddenly remember that I left Ethan outside...

Saturday was a bit of a departure from our usual Saturdays of late, when I have tended to stay around the Cosmo for the evening.
Four of us went up towards the student area of town to a pub called The Fenton to see an improv comedy night, which was absolutely awesome! Such a great evening! It's a monthly even held on the first Saturday of each month, so it lines up with our weekend very well, and I think I'll be a regular there.
After that we headed off to Pryzm nightclub with its light-up dance floor. It's nearly 2 years since I last went there so it was long overdue! And it was a top night in there too - I danced more than I have done in years!

Only one week on from our weekend in Newcastle, we were back in Leeds for Leeds First Friday weekend.
While Gemma went out round lots of the venues, I had a quietish one. I stayed in the Cosmo all night as we were able to sit down and chat in there, while the other venues are quite loud which makes it difficult to chat.
There were quite a few new girls at the event for the first time, and it seems they all had a great time which is brilliant for the event.

Some portraits of my family members that I took during Pongal vacation. Have lot of candid portraits to upload which were taken during the occasion. April was a very packed month socially! The weekend after Newcastle, Gemma was back in Hull again.
Saturday night we packed a lot in, and tried some new places.
We went to Ambiente tapas restaurant for Spanish food and it was absolutely gorgeous! Definitely doing that again, it was a really nice place and the food was great!
After that we went to Humber Street Social which was a venue we had not tried before. And then we went on to a charity night at The Oak Vaults and had a great time in there - even won two raffle prizes each! :-D

Seems I really love this dress - or at least I really love taking pictures with this dress on!
