A weekend in Derby to visit Gemma and go for a visit to Dovedale in the Peak District.
Friday night we went for an amazing carvery at the Cherry Tree Farm. Wow. Never seen a carvery like that - and really good value too!
The desserts looked incredible but I couldn't even finish my main course, ha ha!
I cannot wait to go back here again, it was incredible.
Often when I see people pitch X-men reboots, they do one of two things: A) Do the original Uncanny X-men roster of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Angel and Iceman or B) Just plugs in every popular X-men right off the bat. I don't like either of these. The uncanny X-men roster is kinda bland, while having every popular X-man in one movie would obviously not work.
My ideal line up would comprise of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Storm and Angel. Professor X and Beast would also be present but as mentors to the team, not actual X-men.

Priceless treasured memories.
For my birthday (which was 2 weeks previous) my family asked me where I would like to go for a 50th birthday meal. I said it would be nice to have a barbecue round at my Sister's - that way we could all get together, keep our distance and be outside.
I decided that since it was my birthday, I was going to wear my princess dress - even though I knew everyone else would be casual and I would be way WAY over the top, ha ha!
But honestly, to have this level of acceptance and love from my family means everything to me. It was amazing being able to do all this.
My Dad is very poorly these days and rarely leaves the house. I wasn't expecting to see him this day, but bless him, he wanted to make the effort to come and see me for this. Dad, thank you so so much. It meant the world!
As an after note - and a 24 carat solid gold cherry on the icing of this brilliant birthday - a couple of weeks later, when I saw my parents at their house, my Dad told me that he wanted me to know how proud he is of what I am doing, of me transitioning. I'm in floods of tears actually typing this - to hear that from my Dad, well, there are no words to describe how that makes me feel. xx

I have never seen a spider with such a big abdomen, not even in botswana.
I found this on a hunt for the small red damsel, it was the hardest pond in the world to get too! and was at the far end of a giant field with vegetation up waist height and tussocks everywhere! Didn't even see the small red damsel and it was a ridiculously windy day so i think i was lucky to get any snaps lol.

The cruiser Aurora was built between 1897 and 1900 in St. Petersburg and joined Russia's Baltic fleet in 1903. The ship measures 126.8 meters in length, 16.8 meters in width and weighs a staggering 7,600 tons. Maintaining a speed of 20 knots it can travel independently for up to 1,440 sea miles.
In 1917, the Aurora took an active part in the Revolution. On the night of October 25-26 1917, it fired a blank shot at the Winter Palace (residence of the Provisional Government), giving the signal to the rebellious workers, soldiers and sailors of the city to storm the palace. That moment triggered a dramatic episode in Russia's history and was the start of over 70 years of Communist leadership.
Your comments and faves are greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
Black Kite
Scientific Name: Milvus migrans
Description: The Black Kite is a medium-sized raptor (bird of prey). From a distance, it appears almost black, with a light brown bar on the shoulder. The plumage is actually dark brown, with scattered light brown and rufous markings, particularly on the head, neck and underparts. The tail is forked and barred with darker brown. This feature gives the bird its alternative name of Fork-tailed Kite. The eye is dark brown and the bill is black with a yellow cere (area of skin around the nostrils). Both sexes are similar. Young Black Kites are generally lighter in colour than the adults, and have a comparatively shallower forked tail.
Similar species: The Black Kite's plumage is similar to other raptors (birds of prey), such as the Little Eagle, Hieraaetus morphnoides, Whistling Kite,Haliastur sphenurus, and Square-tailed Kite, Lophoictinia isura. In flight, however, its long forked tail and almost unmarked underwing make it unmistakable.
Distribution: The Black Kite's range covers the majority of the Australian mainland, as well as Africa, Asia and Europe. The Black Kite is arguably the most numerous species of raptor in the world.
Habitat: The Black Kite is found in a variety of habitats, from timbered watercourses to open plains, and is often observed in and around outback towns. Although it is more normally seen in small groups, the Black Kite may form huge flocks of many thousands of birds, especially during grasshopper plagues. No other Australian bird of prey is seen in such large flocks.
Feeding: The Black Kite preys on lizards, small mammals and insects, especially grasshoppers. It also is a scavenger, and frequents tips in outback towns. Black Kites also gather in flocks around bush fires, and eagerly pounce on small animals as these flee the flames. Both live and dead (carrion) prey is eaten.
Breeding: Black Kites nest in isolated pairs or in small, scattered colonies. As with other raptors, a ritualised aerial courtship display is performed by both sexes. This involves loud calling, grappling of feet (talons), and tumbling or cartwheeling. The nest is a bulky cup of sticks, lined with softer material, and is placed in the fork of a tree branch (generally close to the trunk). The female incubates the eggs while the male provides food.
Calls: The call is a descending whistle "psee-err" followed by a staccato "si-si-si-si-si".
Maximum Size: 55cm
Average size: 51cm
Average weight: 540g
Breeding season: Usually August and November; can breed at any time
Clutch Size: One to three.
Incubation: 28 days
Nestling Period: 40 days

Rock slide, that covered the town of Frank at the beginning of 20th century, when part of the Turtle Mountain decided to slide down onto an unsuspecting town at 4am. It looks very impressive when you drive by down on a highway and both sides of the road are still covered with huge boulders. I included the viewing platform with people on it to give an idea of the size of boulders towards the end of the slide.. I am not sure how far away this slide reached, but the spot we were standing in was pretty high up across the valley...
It took us awhile to finally get out of the city and go for a trip and, because we could not really plan anything this year, we ended up traveling south. Haven't been in that part of Alberta good 20 years, so it was a pleasure to visit and get reacquainted with these places again. And, of course, our sunny hot weather has gone away for the duration of our trip (with a couple of exceptions), but I really have nothing to complain with a sky like that, do I? ;D

hi random person. I'm at a loss for words what to write today. Quite frankly I'm not entirely in the mood for it. That's rare. I could just start talking and trying to be funny, sometimes successfully and blabber. Kind of like what I'm doing right now.
But I'll stop. Sorry to disappoint for those that actually do arrive here to read this shit. That still surprises me to some level that people come for that. However I spent for what seemed like the entire Bush Administration working on the post-edit of the posted photo
So... I'll let you just look at it, find the hidden emblem, and then answer the following question for me.
Which place appeals to you the most on a spiritual level, given these 4 choices:
A. wide open sprawling desert (as seen)
B. dense thick Forest with gigantic trees
C. a gorgeous beach with pretty people and clear water
D. my cock currently located in my pants
Let me know.
Thanks,
pimp

Our annual May Lincoln weekend and we had some company this time round.
We organised a meal at Ole Ole Tapas with a few friends - Alice, Isobel, Trisha and Cindy. We all walked up Steep Hill to get there but it was well worth the effort - the tapas at Ole Ole is amazing.
Aslo gave a first outing to my modified handbag. Many thanks to Gemma for helping with the wiring and advice for this - it looks amazing! I'm so pleased with it!

It is the possibilities that excites me about photography.
Regardless of the subject matter, the possibility to discover something creative or unique inspires me to no end.
I believe that regardless of the subject matter, landscape, people or other studies
the creative potentials are the same.
It is very exciting to live the moment discovering the possibilities.

After our day out at the seaside on Friday, Saturday night we went out in town to Propaganda, one of our regular haunts.
