....from a walk through Oxley Creek Common. Oxley Creek Common is home to a remarkable variety of birds. An experienced observer can find as many as 70 species in one hour of observation during the spring about 10% of all Australia's bird species and several times the diversity one could find walking the suburbs. In the past eleven years over 190 species have been recorded on the Common. (Source: University of Queensland)
Superb Fairy-wren
Scientific Name: Malurus cyaneus
Description: Adult male Superb Fairy-wrens are among the most brightly coloured of the species, especially during the breeding season. They have rich blue and black plumage above and on the throat. The belly is grey-white and the bill is black. Females and young birds are mostly brown above with a dull red-orange area around the eye and a brown bill. Females have a pale greenish gloss, absent in young birds, on the otherwise brown tail. The legs are brown in both sexes. Males from further inland and in the south-west of the range have more blue on the back and underparts.
Similar species: Several other species of fairy-wren are found in Australia. The males of each species are quite distinct, but the females and young birds are often difficult to separate. Of the species that overlap in range with the Superb Fairy-wren, the female White-winged Fairy-wren Malurus leucopterus and Red-backed Fairy-wren M. melanocephalus lacks the chestnut colour around the eye, while the female Variegated Fairy-wren M. lamberti has a dull grey-blue wash. Both the Superb and White-winged Fairy-wrens are similar in size. The Variegated Fairy-wren is slightly larger in size and has a longer tail.
Distribution: Superb Fairy-wrens are found south of the Tropic of Capricorn through eastern Australia and Tasmania to the south-eastern corner of South Australia.
Habitat: Seen in most habitat types where suitable dense cover and low shrubs occur. They are common in urban parks and gardens, and can be seen in small social groups. These groups normally consist of one dominant male and several females and young birds.
Feeding: Superb Fairy-wrens feed on insects and other small arthropods. These are caught mostly on the ground, but may also be taken from low bushes. Feeding takes place in small social groups.
Breeding: The nest is a dome-shaped structure of grasses and other fine material. It is usually placed in a low bush and is constructed by the female. The female incubates the eggs alone, but both sexes feed the young. Other members of the group will also help with the feeding of the young.
Male Superb Fairy-wrens have been labelled as 'the least faithful birds in the world'. Females may be courted by up to 13 males in half an hour, and 76% of young are sired by males from outside the social group.
Calls: The Superb Fairy-wren gives a series of high pitched trills, which are given by both sexes. The male often extends these trills into song.
Minimum Size: 13cm
Maximum Size: 14cm
Average size: 14cm
Average weight: 10g
Clutch Size: Three to four.

The Sigma DP1 Quattro is the 28mm FF equivalent lens version.
After a battery charge and a brief setup check, I went straight out for a test shoot. DNG, then JPEG (std colour, BW, "Cinema"). These are all OOC Jpegs, unedited except for some reframing. File size up to 15 MB, unlike the DNG files, not to mention the proprietary Sigma Raw files ....

My second version - first one in comments.
I still don´t know which shot I really prefer, in my eyes they are both equal. Perhaps this one has a slight edge over the other, as it does have better clouds and better trails (thanks to an ambulance and a few illuminated buses, among other passing vehicles), and the foreground bikes are still visible as well.

A man in a black trench coat enters a dark room. The only light is from a small flame lit in front of a shrine. On the shrine sat a skull. The man walked to the shrine and placed his hands on either side of the skull and closed his eyes. He took a deep breath in and when he let the breath go he began to talk to the skull.
"Sista'. Tell me, where is John Constantine?"
The flame on the shrine waved furiously around. The skull eyes lit up with a blue candle that sat inside it. Suddenly a voice sounded from the skull.
"I dO nOt KnOw."
The man sighs but does not break his connection with the skull. Instead he takes another deep breath and asks another question.
"Have you seen him at all recently?"
"No... WaIt, I SeE sOmEtHiNg. A fAiNt LiGhT. yEs, I sEe It. JoHn CoNsTaNtinE."
Suddenly the man's vision is taken over by the skull. A scene comes to his view. A neon bar light shines in his eyes.
"Where is he?"
"HoLd On, BrOtHeR."
The man's vision shifts and he appears in the bar. Suddenly the man he is looking for appears on a bar stool. He takes the final drink of his beer and asks for another. Moments later he is given another beer to which he begins to drink. His attention is drawn to a television set playing a soccer game. He suddenly lets out a swift cheer as the team he is rooting for scores a goal.
"Yes! That's my boy Benteke!"
The man's vision becomes hazy and a sudden headache causes the man to bring his hands to his head. He opens his eyes and looks at his sister's skull. He leans down and kisses the forehead of the skull.
"T'ank you, sista'. I now know where John Constantine is."
The man turns and walks out of the room. As he gets to the doorway he turns back to the shrine and smiles.
"Goodbye, sista'."
He walks out of the room and suddenly the fire in front of the shrine extinguishes itself...

Credit to SupremeDalekDunn for doing similar shots like this and inspiring me to do one for this shot. I'm not entirely sure the way I pulled this off is the same way he does, but it worked for what I wanted to do.

This concludes Hellbazer Vol 1 - The Rogue Shadow. I know that I said, or think I said, that these volumes would be longer, but this is exactly how I imagined and wrote the story. When rewriting to actually upload I thought of making it last a few more issues but ultimately decided against it.
Also stay tuned as I got a pretty cool Halloween story coming for Hellbazer. Nothing too big as I just started back up the story and I'd like to ease myself into the story.

It is the possibilities that excites me about photography.
Regardless of the subject matter, the possibility to discover something creative or unique inspires me to no end.
I believe that regardless of the subject matter, landscape, people or other studies
the creative potentials are the same.
It is very exciting to live the moment discovering the possibilities.

The outside of the main church is covered with frescoes but remember to look up also. It was mentioned that if a place was not painted it was a place evil could get in.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rila Monastery was founded in the 10th century by St. John of Rila, a hermit canonized by the Orthodox Church. His dwelling and tomb became a holy site and were transformed into a monastic complex which played an important role in the spiritual and social life of medieval Bulgaria. Destroyed by fire at the beginning of the 19th century, the complex was rebuilt between 1834 and 1862.
The Monastery of Saint Ivan of Rila, better known as the Rila Monastery is the largest and most famous Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. It is situated in the southwestern Rila Mountains, 117 km (73 mi) south of the capital Sofia in the deep valley of the Rilska River at an elevation of 1,147 m (3,763 ft) above sea level. The monastery is named after its founder, the hermit Ivan of Rila (876 - 946 AD).
The whole complex occupies an area of 8,800 m² and is rectangular in form, centered around the inner yard (3,200 m²), where the tower and the main church are situated.
The main church of the monastery was erected in the middle of the 19th century. Its architect is Pavel Ioanov, who worked on it from 1834 to 1837. The church has five domes, three altars and two side chapels, while one of the most precious items inside is the gold-plated iconostasis, famous for its wood-carving, the creation of which took five years to four handicraftsmen.
I sincerely appreciate comments but please do not post any group pictures. Thank you... (LARGE)
As of today I have a facebook page. I'm just giving it a go.

My updated profile picture for my work. I'm a domestic oven cleaner by trade.
Previously I had my hair tied back on my profile pic, but I wanted it to look a little bit more feminine. I'm reasonably pleased with how it came out. This is the picture that my clients see when they get to my Facebook or Instagram page.
My brother came out last Saturday and dropped off this piece of art :) He made my farm into a mailbox. I absolutly love it and can't believe the detail he went to. All the animals are there plus the foster cats. I thought it too good to be a mailbox and wanted to put it inside but he insisted i put it out the front.
The neighbours think it is hilarious and people driving past now stop and take photos lol

Concours Event - San Marino, CA June 1973. The slide had unfortunately begun to break down before I scanned it. Be careful with your slides! Keep them cool and dry and clean or they'll be junk in no time.
Back to the car: The 246 is one of the sweetest Ferrari's of all time. Very nice driver. Despite being 'only' a 2.4L V6 it gets down the road with impressive speed (it only weighs 2400 lbs) and its handling is superb.

because I have no camera besides my mom's film camera.
Oh and my dinky digital,
but it's a pain in the butt to use.
Soooo I have one roll of film left,
and it has to last me two weeks,
or less,
depends.
Annnyways,
I didn't edit this because I feel like weird editing film because it's so pretty by itself.
So here you go.
Oh yes,
I know this isn't that great.
But I love the tomatoes...
Oh and I just liked the way it looked .

"There is a path just behind the hedge which is not visible on this picture. Those trees on the left are very old. I am not very keen of their shape but they must have been left in the garden for a purpose. I will find out this coming Sunday if the weather allows.
This garden has an interesting history. It is very big with lots to see and delight in! It's a very beautiful place to visit. I am very thankful that the garden is situated within walking distance of my home💗!"

Still busy, these next two weeks will probably be even worse...
Getting stronger, on Thursday they scheduled me the final job interview (already succesfully passed through two) for a really interesting opportunity.
I will be meeting the General Manager of the company. Sounds good!
The shot
Another sunrise from my April Tuscany trip. Taken some minutes before "Tuscany Sunrise @75mm". Tighter crop, less contrasty.
I'm in love with that place.
