I swapped monitors with my mom and remade this... hopefully now there aren't any major flaws.
So for those of you who didn't get a chance to read my description yesterday, because I deleted these like 5 minutes after I posted them... I was playing around with Photoshop and came up with these three. I asked several people which one they liked the best (or hated the least), but all 3 pictures ended up with the same number of votes. So feedback is always appreciated.
Got my passport today... We're planning a trip in June to Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Russia. I'm probably going to spend my birthday in Lithuania, though I'm more excited about going to St. Petersburg in Russia.

Only one week on from our weekend in Newcastle, we were back in Leeds for Leeds First Friday weekend.
While Gemma went out round lots of the venues, I had a quietish one. I stayed in the Cosmo all night as we were able to sit down and chat in there, while the other venues are quite loud which makes it difficult to chat.
There were quite a few new girls at the event for the first time, and it seems they all had a great time which is brilliant for the event.
At Hull station.
I have been so touched by the comments I have received from flickr people over the last couple of days.
My hope was that by telling my story it would help others to understand the illness a little or for those who are suffering/have suffered to not feel so alone.
From what I have heard from you it's working!
I am hoping to have some kind of online space for comments about the exhibition. When I've got something sorted I will let you know. Please do contact me if you'd be willing to let me add any of your comments, responses and thoughts to an exhibition logbook type thing - whether that's online or in print.

Experiments for an exhibition about a journey to recovery from anorexia.
I am working on 6 images of "illness" and 6 images of "recovery".
This exhibition is a big challenge for me but it is something I really want to do. So, I guess the first step is to post a few of my "works in progress" on flickr.
The exibition will be on show from 6th February in Brindley Place in Birmingham. Details to follow...

You are a voyeur, its bad art, why disgrace people. and who wants to look at human disease anyway?
Naive close-minded individuals who are fearful and see the world as dangerous should not look at my work.
they should join groups like FLOWERS or LANDSCAPES for that matter and avoid my work at all costs.
i do from time to time see this person favoring images.
So maybe this individual has come to their senses.
If you don't photograph the sick, the needy, those who have no way out of their plight, who will know about them?
and if we don't know about them,
in our minds
they dont exist
and if they don't exist
who will help them?
Im sorry to impose this shocking truism on those who live in
LA LA LAND......... but it is not
a ROSE COLORED world.

We did these a couple of weeks earlier in preparation for Hallowe'en weekend, and what great fun they were to do!
Gemma worked her magic with her video editing skills, putting the clips together and making this brilliant clip - I absolutely love this!

Trisha, one of our good friends who we see regularly in Leeds and at other events, decided to do a couple of nights in Hull so Gemma came to stay as well, and we made a weekend of it.
It meant swapping Leeds First Friday for Hull in March but that was no problem - it's good to mix things up a bit, and I'm always happy to have friends visit my home town!

It was so good to be back in Lincoln for a weekend after missing it last year. We love Lincoln, it's such a beautiful city.
Saturday evening was just a fantastic evening! We got glammed up and went out looking for somewhere to eat - more difficult than normal because of booking restrictions. But we found a nice Vietnamese place.
After that we walked up steep hill - it is very very steep! - in our heels! That was a first and it actually wasn't too bad - much more difficult coming down, ha ha! And at the top we met a lovely group of girls.
The we went off to The Scene for the evening - it was lovely to be back there. First time we had heard loud music in a public place since pre-pandemic too so it was almost like the old days, although we did have to stay seated at our table.
This was the lovely group of girls we met.
As I commented earlier, the "new" black freestyles are different than the five year old (purchased new) white ones. The biggest differences to me are the obvious ones, the black ones size 4 are smaller by a half inch than the white ones, size 3. The Reebok logo on the sides are different. One is in color, the other a shadow print. One has the British flag in color.
By now, I had removed the heel counter in the new black ones so I could wear them for some hours without discomfort.
As I mentioned with the previous photos, the black ones have much more pliable leather, they stretched to fit my feet better once the heel counters (very hard plastic) were removed.

A fabulous foggy morning, a few weekends ago in Rundle Park in Edmonton, AB, Canada
I’ve wanted to make some changes to the Toa Vihagu for a while now. I made a few changes in November/December of last year, but the bulk of modifications came in a two week stint before school started. The current updates are motivated by my possible displaying at BrickFair North Carolina next year, and if I’m going to be displaying these MOCs I want them to be as good as possible.
Which isn’t to say that I’ve made them as good as possible now. I’ve made some good progress, definitely but there’s still changes I intend to make between now and BFNC

Zerkah, the leader of the Vihagu, seemed as good a character as any to introduce the types of changes I’ve made (as you can see here, Jetera has changed very little.) He is, of course, based off the version I made in 2016, but with a few modifications:
*His torso now includes a more stable internal structure, based on Chrin’s. His lower torso is further filled in.
*The shells on his arms have been swapped.
*He now uses Jetera’s thigh design.
*He has a brand new pair of shins.
*The sockets on his feet have been swapped, and his feet have been further filled in.
*He now has a signature weapon, a battle-axe (which I designed last year.)
I originally wanted to remove the Mata red shells on his thighs in favor of Metru red ones, like I did with the forearms, but the size 5 shells were too small for his physique. Furthermore, he ended up looking very dull without the Mata red to brighten things up. I feel like I made a good compromise with swapping out his forearm plates, however. The “iron boot” that has been part of his design since V1 is now gone. Its final fate has not yet been determined – I think the concept adds to his character but I have yet to make a good-looking physical version.
I intend to further develop the shins and fill in most of the pinholes. I’d also like to give him a new head structure (namely one that has eyes).

After a lovely afternoon out brambling with Gemma and my Mum, Gemma and I had an aamazing night out in Hull!
A delicious meal out at our favourite French restaurant Cognac started the evening off.
Then we decided to try Humber Street - the recently redeveloped area around Hull Marina. We found a rooftop bar there and met some great people - several of whom came to meet us later on at The Star!
It was a properly social night and it felt like the first 'proper' night out since the restrictions were lifted. A fantastic time.
More lovely people - in the white top is Marie who Gemma knew already.

Leeds Pride weekend. Wow. After a far too long 3 year wait since the last one, we had been building up to this!
For me, Leeds Pride weekend is the highlight of the year. And this year it certainly didn't disappoint!
So to Sunday, the day of the parade. Wow, what an overwhelming, beautiful, wonderful day that was! Meeting up with lots of friends we hadn't seen in such a long time, and of course, the parade itself was incredible to experience. I high fived so many kids along the route, and it was so lovely seeing their faces light up as they high fived!
We met up again with our amazing friends who made us the 'You Matter' pine cone which has resonated down the years (see the picture of the pine cone in my album August 2018 for the story) and it's always a privilege to see them, and the lovely Sue too, a friend we made when she saw the story of the pine cone here on Flickr.
I was emotionally drained by the time the parade was over though, so I didn't go back out into Leeds on the evening. But what a day. I'll remember it for ever!

The last weekend in April and Gemma was visiting yet again - we had a great time in April!
We had a gorgeous dinner out at a lovely country pub called the Ferguson Fawcitt in a village called Walkington, and went for a little wander around the village and the pond.
On the evening we ate well again - back at Cognac for more amazing French food, then on to an 80s night at Humber Social down Humber Street, which was a busy 80s gig!

We had an awesome weekend in Nottingham.
Friday night we met some friends and went to the Barrel Drop - a lovely micropub we've been to lots before. We even unexpectedly bumped into a load of Gemma's friends outside who were on their own pub crawl.
We also met our wonderful friend Sarah in the Barrel Drop, as well as others.
Saturday night was our main reason for being in Nottingham - we went to see the amazing, incredible Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert at the Royal Concert Hall. What a brilliant show! We met a lovely Mum and Daughter Marie and Charley waiting to go in too.
Sunday photos are of my walk back to the van, past the castle.
