The last couple of weeks there have been many beautiful red admirals (Vanessa atalanta), feeding on the rugosa rose hips at the beach where we live.
A nice last summer-like experience before everything is withered.

584's rainbow colour splash has been designed by Lothian's in-house design team and gifted to Pride Edinburgh at the Scotia March in June. It became an instant hit with the Edinburgh public.

Catherine Parr was Queen of England and of Ireland (1543–47) as the last of the six wives of King Henry VIII, and the final queen consort of the House of Tudor.
She married him on 12 July 1543, and outlived him by one year. She was also the most-married English queen, with four husbands. Her tomb lies in the private chapel at Sudeley Castle in the middle of the Cotswolds, the only Queen of England buried on a private estate
I was trying to find a photo to fit the theme "Spikey" for a challenge group and thought that I would try something a bit different. After trying a few macros of the spikey stingers on some nettles and then taking a few photos of barbed wire I had the idea of squirting coloured water onto my white floor tile so that the splashes (hopefully) looked a bit spikey.
I poured red, orange and blue food colouring into three glasses and added water to each and then used a syringe to squirt a little bit of water from each of them a couple of times. Then it was just a case of mounting the camera on a tripod overhead to take a photo after I had finished.
After having a few goes and having to wash the tile and dry it in between attempts this was my favourite photo.
I am not normally a fan of colour splashes (or spot colour), but I couldn't resist this guys shirt.

With the Mon Calamari cruiser bridge completed, I immediately got the idea to use some specialised sand purple parts for some kind of engine room or engineering station within the ship. I think the sand purple makes for a nice colour splash and has a fitting "aquatic" vibe.
The bridge module can be stacked securely on top of the engine room to save some shelf space.

Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib at Anandpur, Punjab is one of the most sacred places of the Sikhs, which is linked with their religious traditions and history. by picturesque natural scenery, with the river Satluj forming a shimmering and shiny blue border on the south west barely four miles away. So far as the historical significance of Anandpur Sahib is concerned, it is second only to Amritsar, the city of Golden Temple.
Anandpur Sahib comes to life every year on the occasion of Hola Mohalla. This tradition dates back to the times of the 10th Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Guru decided that the occasion of the festival of Holi, fun and frolic and colour splashing, be the occasion for the display of the martial spirit of his people and he gave this festival of Holi a more masculine name of Hola Mohalla. Each year Hola Mohalla marks the congregation of lacs of devotees from all over the country for a festival of colour and gaiety.
