The second and final shot from my recent trip to the quayside for Thomas Heaton's exhibition. Something a little different from the first and no doubt not to everyone's taste!

A lovely splash of colour splashed with raindrops.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.

One Monday evening I noticed that sunset is promising to be quite dramatic, I grabbed my camera and went to Håga (suburb of Uppsala). As I was biking to my destination it crossed my mind that I don't want to shoot it from only one location, so I was stopping and taking pictures of Swedish scenery with sunset colour splash.

Some "old" photo's from our trip to Morocco - May 2009

Somehow I never uploaded these before

this lady stands out in Milans Piazza del Duomo with her red bag. I expected the piazza to be much busier but apparently Milan isn't a huge tourist attraction, and most of those who were there chose to be in the shade. Very wise in the heat. We chose the shade at the Aperol Terrazza :))))

Selective colour with a vintage look.

Something to brighten a dull winter day!

Dedicated to my good Flickr friend skagitrenee whose birthday is today, 27 December. You can check out her beautiful photostream here: www.flickr.com/photos/skagitrenee/

This was actually taken on a Sony Xperia Z phone. I remember at the time thinking wow these Sony camera phones are AMAZING. I managed to did this up the other day and post as a true testament to the quality of Sony.

Such a great feeling to see the colour splash/ reflect over all the rocks

This is Reynisfjara beach - Iceland. Reynisfjara is a world-famous black-sand beach found on the South Coast of Iceland, which features basalt columns and the dramatic Reynisdrangar sea stacks. It's beside Vik i Myrdal, the southernmost village on the mainland of Iceland.

The sand at Reynisfjara is black due to its volcanic origins. Formed from cooled lava that flowed into the ocean during eruptions, the lava fragments were broken down over time by the powerful waves, creating the distinctive black sand beach we see today.

The beach is also known to be dangerous due to 'sneaker' waves but despite this (and the most horrendous winds when we visited) we encountered this somewhat excited tourist who asked my wife to film him before proceeding to dance around without a care in the world! And no this isnt a colour splash shot - everything was grey apart from my wifes coat.

Next in the colour splash series is women in a wedding procession in the early hours, the light catching their bright colours.

There are times when mother nature needs a helping hand, or in this case, a steel hooked post.

The colour of an flower standing before the lake of Harrold-Odell Country Park, succeeds over darkness.

I am not normally a fan of "colour splashes" in black and white shots - but I couldn't resist this one.

Taunton, Somerset, UK.

Kermit was posing for me again, this time on a water pipeline supplying fresh water to a local village. He often comes to say hello whenever I'm in his jungle.

A pretty standard view, but the swoosh of colour surrounded by the darkness of this night-time scene at Carlisle Citadel Station caught my eye. A southbound TPE Nova 2 unit pauses at platform 4 with a Manchester Airport bound service. A long exposure, 1.6 seconds employed to achieve F16, and the starburst effect on those painfully bright headlights. Tuesday 14.12.21.

On another note, "50 Years of Phoenix" is still available – click on this link to view a selected part of the book, and perhaps even order a copy: www.mortonsbooks.co.uk/product/view/productCode/15554

Also, why not take a look at the PRPC web site at www.phoenix-rpc.co.uk/index.html.

This shot was actually a first attempt at a camera rotation image but was totally messed up. The alignment on my camera rotation tool was out and nothing was symmetrical. But sometimes you have to admit that even being a lightpainter with a touch of OCD, random is good!

The main silhouette was shot with a fractal filter over the lens. I then removed the filter and panned the camera across the frame to shoot four more silhouettes at 90 degree increments. But with the rotation tool out of alignment, the results were totally random!

Happily spotted in Vancouver's very sad and rundown Chinatown.
