"Lukee" a 1901 built Kerr Stuart is seen on the Red Cliffs Historical Steam Railway on 25th April 1999.
Still shot of the Fulmars on the famous cliffs @ Hunstanton. Not best of light in a morning as the cliffs face west.
This large -scale mountain abstract was taken on Baffin Island. I call it large scale because the cliff was about 500-600 meters high.
It was located just across the Mount Asgard on Turner Glacier. This is one of those unplanned photos. I was hiking across the glacier on this cold afternoon, looking for possible compositions to shoot aurora later in the night.
As I was passing by this granite wall, I stopped for a while to put on another layer of clothing. I took a moment to look around and I noticed a warm sunset light illuminating the face of this rock. The combination of cold surrounding and the warm light created interesting view. This cold-warm contrast combined with all converging lines of the cliff caught my eye so I decided to capture it.
Oh my, but I DID take a lot of shots of this beach and these cliffs! A slightly different PoV here, showing some of the larger rocks which have fallen to the beach.

Cliffs at a scenic stop along the Nullarbor.
I've been away travelling but have arrived home with only a few 'photography' images. Sad to say that most of them are just the travel kind but that's the result of enjoying the trip rather than concentrating on photography.
A view along the very unstable cliffs at Worbarrow Bay especially after all the recent rain.

Bemtpon Cliffs June 2015. My favourite Sea birds.
I took the 5D Mark III out of moth balls for the weekend and commandeered Ian's 300 mm lens. Suffice to say I want a 300mm lens now.
Many thanks for the faves and comments, they are all very much appreciated.
Collecting mud for a nest. These guys are faster than a speeding bullet and just as hard to catch! Wilson's Flats Ontario
Explored #413 - Thank you! The spectacular Cliffs of Moher have made it to the final stage of the “New 7 Wonders of Nature" campaign. The 700ft sea cliffs are vying for one of the seven top places with 27 other finalists. The seven locations will be chosen by votes from the public all over the world over the next two years and the winners will be announced in 2011.
Many of us have hiked & enjoyed the Raven Cliff Falls Wilderness trail in North GA, just outside of Helen, for many years. Even though it can get extremely crowded, especially in recent years, things are usually more tame on weekdays so I took the opportunity to venture out on a rainy (foggy & moody) Wednesday morning to do some exploring. On my intenirary were two (2) waterfalls somewhere on Dodd Creek above Raven Cliff Falls, and since I found both very scenic from just the couple of photos out there I just had to see them.
However, there were a couple of things I didn't realize about this adventure, and both were equally fascinating. To venture further up Dodd Creek you essentially have to climb up a steep scramble path at the end of the official trail - where I always believed the "Raven Cliff Falls" to be. The revelation though is that behind that cliff is the real (entire) Raven Cliff Falls that comes pouring down from the very top, but the view is simply blocked by the "end of the trail" cliff face itself. The only way to witness this true magnificence is to climb up & around this scramble path (the cliff) and onto what ultimately becomes a rather harrowing trail along the cliff edge. This discovery was both mind-blowing & fascinating considering the amount of time that we've spent here through the years. I'll be clear though, this is not an adventure that I would recommend unless you are truly up for it & willing to play it safe... wisdom should always prevail.
If you would like to check a video of the adventure here it is:

This image is from the first time I went out to photograph the Milky Way this year, back in early February, but I didn't process the images until now because I wasn't really happy with the results after I took the photos. But now I'm fairly happy with the final image. Sometimes things just need time to come together. Venus is the bright object in the sky near the center of the image above the horizon.
These images that I create of the night sky are often complicated blends of multiple images, and this is no exception. You can learn more about my techniques in my article that was published on The Luminous Landscape last year at www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/night_sky___astrophotog...
