The cliff flycatcher is only found east of the Andes cordillera, and therefore is not found in Chile. All other South American countries are represented....Wikipedia.
Standley Chasm, a narrow gorge in the West MacDonnell Ranges, located 50 km west of Alice Springs, Australia.
When I arrived there, the sun unfortunately disappeared behind the clouds, but the red colour of the cliffs was still very impressive.
Many thanks for your visits / comments / faves!
These are the Clay Cliffs on the South Island of New Zealand. It's a really cool place where they shot part of Lord of the Rings, but it takes a while to get here. The frustrating thing is you can see them from the highway, but you have to drive around this bridge that is hours away just to get there. Next time, I think I'll just go up to the river and be lazy and use a quadcopter!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I'm posting what I hope are previously unposted shots taken during our 2012 trip to Ireland.
I love the wild and rugged Irsh coast.
A little different angle on the Cliffs of Moher on the coast of Ireland. We got lucky with the sun coming out just as we were arriving. I had already taken the "classic" shot when the sun was still under the clouds. As we were traversing along the cliffs, the sun made a brief appearance lighting up the cliff face for this shot.
During the lte afternoon, when the sun got low and other mountains started to shade this one.

Having been closed all year, Lower Cliff - the last section of the Monkey trail - at Cannock Chase trail centre, has finally re-opened! The Forestry Commission has taken all the trees that enclosed the top half of the trail, completely changing the feel of the place. To their credit, they, along with the local trail pixies, Chase Trails, have repaired all the damage caused by the harvesting equipment.
The trail itself? It's still a blast that leaves me grinning every time!
