I don't usually do much mono landscapes but the light was so strong that it seemed an obvious choice for this shot. Any constructive criticism gratefully received.
After a nice 2.5 mile hike, this is the reward at the end of the Raven Cliff Falls Trail. In actuality this is only a portion of the falls that drop through the steep cliffs, but it's about all I could shoot without completely blowing out the highlights. These falls end in a deep (COLD) pool and then feed into Dodd Creek.

Mesa Verde's (and North America's) largest cliff dwelling. Mesa Verde was the first stop on my summer road trip through southwest Colorado. I was lucky enough to catch a break between tours for this shot. The only way to get up close to these dwellings is to go on a ranger-led tour, during which they discuss some really interesting information about the Ancestral Pueblo people that used to live here. It was discovered in the late 1800s and since then has undergone fairly significant reconstruction. If you go back to look at some photos from the late 1800s and early 1900s you can really see how much they've cleaned it up.

I thought when I shot this image it was a Barn Swallow, which there are several of them around. It turns out it was a Cliff Swallow, part of the flock gathering mud for building nests.

In this photo I used Topaz Simplify to make one copy in a painterly style. I put that copy on top of the original photo as layers in Photoshop.
I set the blend mode to dissolve in the painterly copy and reduced the opacity to about 40% for this subtle painterly look. Soft light blend mode gives a similar look.

Slieve League is a mountain on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal, Ireland. At 601 metres (1,972 ft), it has some of the highest sea cliffs on the island of Ireland. Although less famous than the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Slieve League's cliffs reach almost three times higher.
