I took this on a hike. It was taken looking up the side of a vertical cliff wall toward the sky, so the plant itself was sticking out horizontally from the rocky cliff-side.
Maoris have a name for this that is impossible to remember, but European settlers thankfully called it "Hole in the rock".
The view in the photo used to be in the boundaries of Alton Towers, but they were changed in the early 1990s and now anyone can find them...if they know where to look!
This is just before (King) Ina's Rock becomes visible. If you walked the opposite way (and if the security fence was not there) you would end up in Forbidden Valley!

Stitched from 5 photos. The walk around the rim of Kings Canyon affords exceptional views. The colours at sunset are amazing. Kings Canyon is in Watarrka National Park in central Australia. North East of Uluru.
In County Clare there are some amazing cliffs you can see called "Cliffs of Moher". These are about 45 minutes outside of Innis.
