A vole is a small rodent resembling a mouse but with a stouter body, a shorter hairy tail, a slightly rounder head, smaller ears and eyes, and differently formed molars (high-crowned and with angular cusps instead of low-crowned and with rounded cusps). There are approximately 155 species of voles. They are sometimes known as meadow mice or field mice in North America. Vole species form the subfamily Arvicolinae with the lemmings and the muskrats.

For this challenge the theme is high contrast in black and white. The idea is to achieve an interesting composition using the high ends of black and white
I dont know what the plant is but it is pink and after reading the tutorial I used a yellow filter in Windows Live Photo Gallery.

The Tall Ships Youth Trust enables young people aged 12-25 to fulfil their potential through life-changing adventures at sea. And an extensive adult programme, for ages 18-80, helps fund the youth development work.
The Trust, which is based at Portsmouth, has helped 117,000 trainees during the past 60 years, and more than 80 per cent of the young people taken to sea are disadvantaged or disabled.
A fleet of four 72ft Challenger yachts and a 55ft ketch enables the charity to take 1,000 young people to sea every year.

I had trouble finding a cube but finally an old game of Yahtzee belonging to my daughters yielded these dice so I had a bit of fun with them.
Inspired by the broken herringbone print (saved for the binding), I pieced the chevrons from the other prints provided, plus some vanilla cotton couture. Thank you, Michael Miller, for the fun challenge! (~47" square)

Something old.
I was struggling to find something to photograph for this part of the challenge, not because I don't have anything old, but because I am spoiled for choice!
In the end, I went with this old painted 26W night-light bulb, which has been gathering dust on a bookshelf since my daughter was little. I long since replaced all incandescent light bulbs in the house, and have nearly finished replacing the last few compact fluorescent bulbs with LED equivalents. As such, there is no way that I'm ever going to use this bulb again, but it's just too pretty to throw away.
