Portland Bureau of Transportation staff members visited Jason Lee today to talk about their participation in the U.S. Department of Transportation's Smart City Challenge. Jason Lee's 5th grade students worked together to come up with ideas for programs and technology they would like to see if Portland were to become a Smart City.
Challenge works to help incoming students adjust to college life while participating in some of the great community engagement projects Millsaps is known for. This week-long event allows new students to meet and forge relationships with current students and other incoming classmates who share a love of volunteering and community building.

Fannie C. Williams 2nd graders choose books to read as part of the Scholastic New Orleans RSD Superintendent's Challenge announced by Superintendent Paul Vallas in New Orleans on Monday, April 2, 2008. The challenge is to get children through out the school district to read 100 minutes a week.
Robots were in action on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Penn State York when 35 teams of middle and high school students took part in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) South Central PA Regional Qualifier, a robotics competition. More than 500 attendees, including competitors, volunteers, and spectators attended the event. The winning alliance, comprised of three teams, were the Javengers from Enola, Pennsylvania; Cubix^3 from Hampstead, Maryland; and Sparks from Villanova, Pennsylvania. The finalist alliance, or second place winners, included Imagine It from Palmyra, Pennsylvania; Metal Works from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and GearHounds, from York, Pennsylvania. This was the seventh time the campus has hosted an FTC event.

I don’t have any elaborate issue or topic to delve into for this one. The challenge was to collaborate with another artists, but with covid and all that jazz I decided to collab using this headpiece I bought from Bonnie Lass Creations! I’ve loved this piece since I bought it, but sadly haven’t had much time to do anything with it so this challenge was perfect for that. So I decided to push myself and go all out with my makeup, after all I wanted to look just as magical as the headpiece I was focusing. I love how these turned out and walked away with much more confidence in my makeup skills than I had before, even if it did take me over an hour to get to this point. And quite honestly I just wanted to look like a magical woodland creature for once.
