So I was inspired by my "Easy Kimono Coordinates" book to do a kimono coordination challenge of sorts. Following the book, I stuck to two kimono and four obi, though I cheated a bit using one tsukuri obi. I also increased the number of obiage and obijime to four sets, though the book used only two obiage and three obijime. All other accessories are optional.
So for April & May, I will slowly be coordinating as many outfits out of these few items as I can - and I can come up with many outfits indeed. Looking forward to this challenge!
My entry in the Craftster Needlework Challenge: One Pattern, Many Stitches.
I changed the words beneath (used to say "China," presumably because you'd have a separate towel just for drying China?), but we don't do China. We married in 2007, and the lovely dishes we registered for (from Pottery Barn) are represented here in green (though ours are plain, not decorated). I had a hard time representing my hair color correctly, but I think I did alright. The high-heeled shoes were awkward, but nothing was as bad as that scripty font at the bottom. Single-stranded stem stitch is definitely not the way to go. I would have ripped it out and re-stitched, but the fabric was a bit too delicate and I didn't want to ruin it.

Fifteen hundred people participated in the 14th Annual Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port, presented by Country Kitchen, a run, walk and cycle fundraiser from Boston to Hyannis Port, on May 31 and June 1. The Challenge raised $4.5 million in total donations for Best Buddies International, a nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for friendship, employment and leadership training for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies Global Ambassador and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Congressman Joe Kennedy III co-chaired the weekend-long event.
