A lot more noise in this one, had to clean up some dust haloing as well. If you look behind the net, there's a flock of gulls flying past.
I'm not satisfied with this current version, so I'll probably re-engineer the shot again as I prepare to print it.
Took this shot of a bus I saw drive past as I stood on a corner waiting to cross. Had to act quick and the result isn't that good but I like the way the grumpy_looking driver glanced over at me. It was one those buses decked-out in a brand name for make-up or some perfume chainstore or other. Also used for casting for an advertising campaign. I thought the whole thing was tremendously tacky and ugly.
Casting multiples - The silver has been added and is heated until it is "slumped." Then the partner adds the flask straight from the kiln (so that it doesn't lose it's high heat). while the silver is further heated to the point that it's swirling.
As soon as the flask is added and the silver is swirling, the lid is dropped. This makes the centrifuge spin, forcing the molten silver into the flask.

Through finding the Cocoon I became interested in casting. This led me to try many different forms from alginate, to viyanol and plaster. The picture on the right shows my model, after I had mod rocked her face. The photo on the left is showing the 'burying' of the faces.
The first stage in the process was to take photos from a variety of angles. The photos were used as a reference for the finished piece.
first sand casting - obviously this sand is really coarse, didnt have enough sand to fill box densely, but it worked! left casting with very aged looking pitted surface.
