Taken at sunset at Lake Bonney, I was incredibly lucky the clouds came late in the day which creates a bit of drama in the sky. Earlier in the day the sky was almost completely clear blue. I had scouted this spot for a sunset shot months ago, so it was great that nature decided to play along.

I saw this common redshank (tringa totanus) in Kumana National Park, Sri Lanka. The morning sunlight was very strong so that the bird cast a well-defined shadow.
