John C. Houbolt at blackboard, showing his space rendezvous concept for lunar landings. Lunar Orbital Rendezvous (LOR) would be used in the Apollo program. Although Houbolt did not invent the idea of LOR, he was the person most responsible for pushing it at NASA.

The Museum's Expeditor was manufactured in 1946 and was operated by a New York airline carrying passengers and freight between Florida and Maine. International Nickel (INCO) operated it for nearly 25 years hauling men and equipment to prospecting sites and mines in Canada and Central America. Dennis Bradley acquired the aircraft in 1982 and then donated it to the Museum. The aircraft has been restored in the colours and markings of a detached photographic section of the RCAF, circa 1944, which was stationed in Winnipeg.

I've been down with the flu bug the past two days - headaches, sore throat, body ache, joint pain... yeah, it was pretty severe. I've been sleeping at least 35hours in the last 48hours... and thanks to that, I feel much better now.

14 March 1986. The Sigonella Base Flight C-131F departs from Valkenburg for the last time. Back to a sunny Italy. 141023 was commonly seen at Valkenburg, as she was based close-by in Europe. First at Mildenhall for many years and finally at Sigonella.
Less than three months later, on 2 June, she flew to an even sunnier AMARC for storage.

Notes: Abbott was born in 1870, the son of William H. Abbott, a prominent attorney, and Sarah Yarnall. He grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He originally went to college to study law. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1892. He was a lawyer for ten years before becoming an artist
