Just trying out various border effects. I couldn't help having another attempt at 'bubbles' this time with engine (motor) oil, water and colour provided by a cardboard box and pink tissue paper placed under the glass jar! .... something different I guess! Please check out the large scale.

Bubble Ben, Northampton, MA

Have you run into Bubble Ben on the streets of Northampton yet? We love him! Kids love him! What's not to love? He's Bubble Ben! Every time we've crossed paths with him, he's been between Thornes Market and the parking garage, making humongo bubbles that splatter about an eighth of a cup of soap on kids running and jumping to catch and pop them.
What takes place during these episodes is a classic case of Instant Karma: beautiful glistening bubbles billow out of Ben's bubble lasso as the wind catches them and gently lifts them up and across the promenade, carrying flirtatious thoughts of lazy summer days... only to be chased down by kids with fingers sticky from Herrells' ice cream, leaping and jumping at them in an attempt to slap and poke at their delicate buoyancy. And when successful, soap rains down on them, into their eyes and hair... and they stop briefly to poke those sticky fingers in their eyes that now burn - a bubbles revenge... and when they recover they do it again and again. All patiently choreographed by Ben. Parent's giving him tips for this dance... It's like they are saying thank you for entertaining my child for these past five minutes AND for also pre-soaking them in preparation for their evening bath!

I often see images that would make a nice capture, and usually cant quite get to the best position to take a shot. Enjoying a coffee whilst in St Paul de Vence this opportunity presented itself.

This is a macro shot of air bubbles in hand sanitizer gel. It's actually two images superimposed together then colorized. A zig-zag distortion filter was applied to the lower portion of the image and glints were added in the specular highlights with a star sparkle brush tip in Photoshop.
This image is best viewed on black or at the original size.
Not as easy as you'd think. Try it. Used off camera Flash to the left of each photo, triggered with on camera remote. Only edited to darken the black off a bit more for the background. Sharpening slightly via LR3.
She was moving soooooo fast trying to pop the bubbles that she was a little blur but you can just see how badly she wanted to pop them all.
