When making the cocoa this evening this bubble of milk leaped out of the cup whilst I was stirring it. The cocoa powder seems to have held it together - it's still there on the kitchen work-surface as I write this.

(2019) Bubbles and Butterfly
Here's an illustrated tribute to American artist Robert Vickrey (Aug 26, 1926 – Apr 17, 2011). He specialized in painting surreal dreamlike visions under soft light and silhouettes, via the ancient medium of egg tempera.

The experiments with lighting bubbles in a fishtank, just using the cameras popup flash continue.
Phase 2 was to include a bit of colour into the mix. A fairly simple addition by placing a couple of pieces of fun foam to the backdrop and to the sides of the tank. The flash hitting the backdrop projects the light back into the tank from behind.
As the flash is directed over the tank, the green, white and orange reflectors are above the tank, while a black background is directly behind.
Although I like the effect of disappearing into the black, next step is to try and light the bottom a little better, more reflectors needed ;-)
Twenty-three bubble gum pink pearls are clustered together to make this flirty, feminine necklace. I really enjoy the substantial feeling of the pearls while the sterling silver chain is delicate and light. Also the graduated line makes for a graceful flourish.
Each pearl has been hand-wrapped with sterling silver wire individually before being attached to the 16 inch chain. The Tahitian pearls measure a fantastic 6 by 10 mm.

A possible Take A Class With Dave and Dave submission for Week 20, Assignment 2.
Spheres - This one is going to be difficult. It probably won't be too hard to find something spherical to photograph, but your job is to somehow make it interesting. No points for cleverness...the thing you photograph should actually LOOK like a sphere in the photo (i.e. don't shoot the ground and say the Earth is a sphere; don't shoot the sun or the moon which look like circles). Also, no eyeballs.
I took Savanah out today to get some shots of bubbles for my Sphere assignment. Not sure if I'm going to go with bubbles for spheres but they were my first thought when I read the assignment, plus, she loves bubbles and we have such fun with them.
