I've been trapped in the house for ages and I really needed something to photograph...Oil and Water - too cool! I filled a large glass vase with water then dropped some Canola oil in - after photographing that for I while I dropped in some yellow food color but really it's much easier just to set it on a piece of colored paper.
Thanks for the advice Betsy!
My first attempt at shooting bubbles.
Doesn't work too well without a dark background or outside so will be trying that next
Can anybody fly this thing?
Before my head explodes,
or my head starts to ring.
We've been living life inside a bubble...

I've decided today to revisit my collection of shots from several weeks ago, when we've enjoyed a bit of a fire and bubble making fun. For me, this is yet another facet of summer. The time we spend outside with kids, roasting sausages and marsh-mellows on fire, playing silly games or just simply watching the kids goofing off is what always brings smile to my face.. I hope you have many opportunities of just such fun. Summer is too short not to do it often ;D
Bubbles
Some bubbles rise up to the sky
Some bubbles don’t, I don’t know why
Easily popped by just one touch
Easily missed by way too much

I was inspired by the group seebeyondFATTKATT www.flickr.com/groups/1157170@N21/ with their funky colors and psychedelic images.
I've been playing with PhotoImpact (anything to avoid writing essays) and although most of these are messy or OTT I thought I'd post them anyway. Comments and advice appreciated! (just be nice and remember I'm a beginner)
The bowl was filled with water, and it was made to overflow by placing it under flowing tap water. As the tap water hit the surface of the water in the bowl, I was able to shoot these random shapes of the froth generated. Shot at 1/200th second with flash on. (Looks like cells under a microscope, doesn't it?)
