My entry for the Festival of Mundanity, hosted by BrickNerd and The Lego Car Blog!
A Corolla was listed as an example of something mundane, and, since I own one (2007) myself, I thought I'd take a stab at this particular one!
This was a surprisingly difficult build, but I wanted to force myself to give it a shot. I'm used to cars of the 1950s and hot rods, so this one was way out of my comfort zone. I'm reasonably happy with how it turned out, though! I hope you like it.

Built for NERDvember 2015 on BrickNerd
EDIT: Eye problem fixed. Sorry for those who commented and faved! ^^'
This is a short, one day build as my entry for the #Nerdlystrikesback, where I have recreated the iconic ending scene of Planet of the Apes in microscale, as the glasses as the Statue of Liberty. In this contest, you build a ‘Nerdly’, which is a model, any shape, any size that has BrickNerd’s recognisable taped glasses perched on them.
But we are sheep, Capt'n
He means cheap!
A cheap ship?
Chirp chirp? You ain't no bird, you're a four legged lawn mower!
Milkdrinker!
Grass eater!
*mumbles* Why am I always stuck with these loonies? I should get another job...

Over on Brick Nerd there's a contest called Pi-RATS and BUGaneers for non-minifig pirates. Dunno if I'm going to participate, but finding a potential crew was fairly easy.
Toy Project Day 2554
Captain Rexbeard and the piratosaurus
If a pirate crew were made up of dinosaurs with a t-rex as their captain, I bet they would bury a goat trapped in resin, for treasure.
Made this for Tommy Williamson's Bricknerd Nerdvember contest.Basically tried to comicly adapt this really cool Gentle Giant statue i love, only slightly more nerdified, but then the r2 body came out so clean i had to make it a real r2 head to do him justice. might take a more serious stab at leia too when i have time
Honestly, the things I build sometimes... :-)
Built at the last minute and at great expense for Tommy's "Pimp My Nerdly" contest.
MEGA Core Vehicle Platform (M.C.V.P) LL 928
The M.C.V.P emerged as the main utility and ground combat support vehicle for OrionBlu soon after the Blue Jacket proved to maintain air superiority over the Sonic Star. The main vehicle, simply referred to as “the Core”, has multiple platform load outs ranging from strong cargo boxes to advanced weapon turrets or tactical recon transports. The Core is fitted with strong armor plating, oversized all terrain wheels with independent suspension and advanced shielding capabilities. The Core is normally crewed by three, a pilot, a Core utilities manager and a platform specialist. Most Core vehicles also include a systems robot to monitor the overall functionality of the Core.
To increase the Core’s utility, a variety of detachable, wheeled trailing platforms can be attached to supplement the Core’s load out. The extensive list of trailing platform load outs range in function from construction and utility cranes to planetary artillery. Over half of the load outs use the same trailing Control Center which may be crewed independently of the Core if the Control Center will be detached for stationary duties, such as use as a fixed listening post or semi-permanent anti-cruiser artillery.

Time to mashup BrickNerd's mascot Nerdly and a podracer from Star Wars for NERDvember 2015! In my imagination this is what it could look like... if you watch closely you can spot two pairs of Nerdlies glasses.
My 5th build from 31 builds that I plan to post everyday for HARDnuary 2015 building challenge.

I really liked the visual of the 'ball of Groot,' surrounding the other Guardians to keep them safe. Wasn't easy to build and a bit disappointed by how difficult it was to photograph and get the depth of the 'ball'. Overall, pleased.
Happy New Year everyone!
Long overdue, I finally managed to finalize my Prussian electric demonstrator units over Christmas.
Originally planned for 2014 to celebrate their 100th birthday, my electric slugs finally took more than two years to build in LEGO. I kept modifying them over and over again - the hood, the running gear, and especially wheel and driveshaft houses. I think I have reached a point now where they're mature enough for sharing.
Shown above is a model of the Prussian electric slug EB1 close-coupled to its control car. Both are unpowered, but the slug's headlights are equipped with PF LEDs.
Here's some background story on the prototypes and the concept in general:
Back in 1914, the Prussian state railroad administration strived to replace steam traction on the commuter trains of Germany's rapidly growing capital city, Berlin. One requirement was to re-use the existing stock of standard 3-axle coaches, which lead to a traction concept of electric slugs semi-permantely coupled to control cars (modified coaches with one compartment replaced by a control stand and equipped with pantographs for 15kV AC feeding).
A typical so-called "half-train" (Halbzug in German) would consist of such a slug and its control car, followed by four coaches, and a second control car at the remote end for bi-directional operation. Two of those half-trains could be merged to form a full-train (Vollzug), with a third slug at the trains's center as optional helper.
In order to provide a full train for testing, three demonstrator units were ordered in 1914: EB1 through EB3, with EB3 delivered one year after his two cousins and designed as a semi-autonomous helper unit carrying its own pantograph. To speed up delivery, the running gears of the slugs were taken one-to-one from EG511-class (later DR E71) locomotives in production at that time.
Testing started in 1914, but the turmoils of World War One, rapid technical progress, and superior competing designs lead to the concept being abandoned by 1920. All three demonstrator units were scrapped, with their running gears re-used as spare parts for E71's.
Finally, here's a couple of pictures showing the demonstrator units and the train arrangement. I had to dive deep into offline sources during my research for this project and got a lot of mission critical insights from a fellow German scale modeler and train expert, so if you have any questions regarding this short but rather unique chapter of electric traction history in Germany feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer them.
It occurred to me (after I gave it away) that I never actually took a decent picture of my proton pack. So here it is. You can find instruction for this in BrickJournal issue 29.
A fantasy adventure where Lord of the Rings sort of meets Game of Thrones. The Snow Guardian is just too cool to be left out.
And yes I am double dipping for Nerdvemeber and Brickscalibur, Frozen wilds category.
I'm really happy about this LEGO creation and I also managed to add a couple of NPUs. The dragon was inspired by the horse battle helmet and i manage to add in some lightsaber and a sausage. I am quite happy also about the tree made with rifle and gun.

A mix of 2D / 3D angle techniques, perfect regular polygons and (very) close approximations. For further details, see the guest article I wrote for BrickNerd on SHIP structure, angles and polygon construction.
I've been wanting to do a rover forever with 8 of the gargantuan tractor tires released way back in 2016, and I started out with those and the windscreen configuration shown. From there, this thing just got MASSIVE and it accidentally turned into a SHIP, clocking in at 117 studs. I dont know if I can call it a SHIP since it doesnt fly, but maybe it'll coin a new term, How about R.O.V.E.R. : Ridiculously Oversized Vehicular Element Repository... Best I can do off the top of my head.
Anyway, tons of play features and functions like a working cargo crane, 5 airlock doors, retractable solar array and research drone, fully finished interior, and I figured I'd add lights as well since i was already going all out.
Oh yeah, it's motorized with 2 XL and 2 L motors for drive and a Steering motor as well.
More pics to come, hopefully this weekend!

Time again to sum up the MOC-year! This year was a crazy one for sure.
I had a lot of fun participating in a lot of the different challenges and contest out there in our awesome community. So a big thanks to all the people that invest their time in organizing all that. From Iron forge to Summer joust as well as Brickscalibur and Nerdvember. Not to mention Febrovery and SHIPtember that's always a lot of fun.
One of the highlights was of course participating in Lego Masters Sweden together with my friend Emma. What an adventure that was! To end up winning the whole thing was truly an experience of a lifetime.
Because of Covid there weren't many exhibitions this year either, but I was very glad that Skaerbaek fan-weekend was held and that I was able to go there. Always a treat to hang out with all the great people down there. Not to mention the privilige it is to write for BrickNerd and to interact with all those beautiful nerds.
Even though Lego masters ate up quite a bit of time, I still had a pretty decent output in terms om MOCs this year, so thank you very much to everyone that faved and commented on all my builds, I really appreciate it! And thank you again to TBB and all the other blogs out there that showcase my builds, I'm truly greatful for that :)
Hopefully 2023 will be a better year for the world as a whole, and that we can continue to use Lego as a way to deal with everything that's going on around us. Take care everyone, see you next year!
When I read about the BrickNerd Cube Your Enthusiasm contest, I had part of set # 41253 next to me and immediately had an idea. This is the first time that I've managed to build a MOC almost exactly as it appeared in my head. Thank you for the inspiration, BrickNerd. This was fun!
Maybe she'll get an updated background before the contest ends... or maybe afterwards.

A smuggler and arms dealer from the planet Sullust who couldn't just let the Empire take control over the Galaxy without a fight.
He was a great pilot and often got the helm of the most important vessels. He was handpicked by Lando Calrissian to be his copilot on the Millennium Falcon in the Battle of Endor.
Nien was a great asset to the Rebels until he perished in the battle of Exegol.
----------------------
For some reason, Nien Nunb was one of the very few Kenner Star Wars figures I got as a kid. I guess one of my relatives was just strolling along the aisles of the toy store and found this weird figure on discount.
I had no idea who this character was and it would take several years before I was old enough to watch the Star Wars movies. It was also a difficult task to get hold a VHS copy in the small village I grew up in. It was a delight to see Nien show up alongside Lando in the final battle in Return of the Jedi. He will always be one of my favourite characters.
This shot is something I've cooked especially for those talented phrase builders out there, namely Tommy over Bricknerd and the restless elves from The Lego Car Blog, as a thank you for their support.
After a long adventure in a far program, the cute little Bug returns home to his Error-mom.
This is an entry for the "Sweet Scenes" category of the Adorabuild contest on Bricknerd.
As I was building this little guy, I pondered what exactly were the special effects guys were going for. I think they were trying to come up with the alien version of an old lady's dog. The kind that's mean looking, barks not stop, is butt-ugly and is clearly missing a few brain cells due to some heavy in-breeding. Personally, I think they nailed it, and I just can't stop lauging at this little monster.
Built for the Imperial March contest over on BrickNerd, category 1. Legendary Characters and Creatures (honestly, I am not so sure about the "Legendary" part, but I think it definitely fits the "creature" definition.
Arr mateys, get them BrickNerd Pirate Contest entries in! Or should I say ROAR mateys?
I couldn't pass up on the fun BrickNerd contest prompt, though I'm of course not in the competition for the epic prizes you can win! ;)
Was fun to go just a bit larger than minifig scale for this. I took advantage of my brother having a bunch of hand tied rigging lying around for a ship he's working on and draped it over the side here, so a shout out to him for that.

Architeuthis Pirata commonly known as "Pirate Squid, Terror of the Seven Seas". Captain Kraken and his crew of Mollusc Marauders are not passing up any opportunity to pillage and plunder. Build in a little under two month for the BrickNerd “pi-RATS & BUG-aneers” contest. Based on the frame of the Silent Mary, the whole bow/head section can lift up to show-off the kraken's fearsome mouth. I'd love to add more rigging but did run out of time and string. The sails are original lego, dyed with black fabric dye.

Hi everybody ! Here is my 8th and last entry for NerdVember contest for Bricknerd.
It was a great pleasure to imagine this MOCs during this month !
Now it's the end of the month and time to prepare christmas !
Santa is a nerd and was done by my friend Nick Sweetman : www.flickr.com/photos/legominifig/15209416314/
So let it snow... with NerdSnowMan !!
Enjoy !!
And see you soon...
When I saw the Bricknerd AdoraBuild contest I knew I had to build something. Much of my life has been consumed by kids and running my LEGO business that I haven't had much time for exploring the types of adorable characters that I love so much. Thank you Bricknerd for inspiring this build for the Cuddly Characters category
I never saw the TV series before, but I remember the first time I saw The Tick character drawing when I was a teen, I think it’s one of the most unique and awesome character drawing I’ve seen at that time. I just saw the 1 episode of the The Tick when I finish this build to look for the best actor to star my imagination movie, and I think Jimmy Fallon would fit perfectly, well because I am a fan of Jimmy Fallon, I bet the movie will be really funny!
I never make a human character build before, so I browsed my fave character builders photostream to look for references, such as Tyler Clites (Legohaulic), 6Kyubi6 (Jimmy Fortel), Letranger Absurde (Vitroleum), thanks guys for the inspiration of all your awesome character builds! Hope you guys like what I build here, though it’s still very basic :)
I used all the 16 seed parts I got as The Tick's antennas on this build.
It’s my 23rd entry for Iron Builder competition vs. Gilcelio Chagas. The secret ingredient for this round is 2 x 2 Domes in Dark Blue.

The moment I saw those motor side frames in dark brown I knew that some day I would make use of it on an old, rusted, abandoned engine.
I have played around with this truck design based on LEGO's new train wheels for quite a while now (which you can tell from all the dust on it if you zoom in) and kept refining it, especially brake cylinders and tubes. It survived some accidental drop tests and at some point even got lifted off the rails by the Force so that I think the time has come for it to be integrated in a real model.
Now that the building process hast started, I thought I'd share this little teaser. Bright and fresh colors are not to be expected for the model that I have in mind, so get ready for all sorts of brown, old dark grey and tan. I know that LEGO weathering is a difficult and risky terrain; it'll certainly take some time to get the color combos right, and I'm far from having figured it out yet.
It's a lot of try and error, and I'm doing it in the bricks, not LDD, to see how the color tones match in real light. As an example, the long stretch of tan shown above (a 2x16 plate) has already been replaced by a mix of tan, dark tan and reddish brown plates. It seemed fine in LDD, but in real bricks it just didn't look realistic.
And -- who knows? -- at the end maybe I'll switch themes from trains to SW and use the chassis for a Java sandcrawler or some other worn-down vehicle from Tatooine instead 🤔
Welcome to the "Sled Race 2000" brought to you by Crazy Bricks and sponsorised by Brick Nerd.
Today's dramatic event took place near the end of the race. Little Timmy was leading the race when he lost control of his sled and now look at him up there rolling in that big ball of snow. Poor Timmy I don't think he saw that one coming :D
Here is my seventh build for my Iron Builder round against Letranger Absurde.
The special part is that dangerous "pithfork".
That build didn't turn out the way I wanted to, I think it's a bit sad and it doesn't have the IB quality. I posted it anyway just for the fun of it.
So SORRY guys.
This year I wanted to bring something really special to Brickworld. The theme of this years convention is unity. I wanted to show a unified front of men, elves, dwarves and even eagles against the forces of evil.
As some of you know, I love castle LEGO and I love building castles and this year I wanted the challenge of building a creature along with some traditional castle buildings. At first I thought about building a large demon, but then my thoughts went to the classic fantasy villain, the dragon!
I hope you all have chance to visit Brickworld this year. If you have a chance stop by the WISLug table, look for me, the really tall guy with dark brown hair for some BrickNerd swag.
After being cast aside by his child companion who is now all grown up, Teddy longed for a new friend. So he learned the art of topiary and crafted himself a bonsai teddy bear that he could care for, just as he had once been cared for by his human child.
