In other news, I finally got my mash tun false bottom today so there will be a fermenter of beer in the furnace room shortly to keep the apfelwein company.

We rolled into town on Thursday night and got dinner at a local sports bar where we watched the first round of the NCAA Tournament and sampled some local brews. They had a special on pitchers from Bayern Brewing Co., so we decided to track the place down on Friday afternoon.

After a morning stroll around the University of Montana campus with the dogs (yes, two adults walking two huge dogs around a college campus at 8 a.m. on a weekday catch some pretty weird looks) we headed over to Bayern for lunch. Not surprisingly, the only other person at a microbrewery before noon on a Friday was a drunk homeless guy.
