In case you were wondering, yes, this beer is delicious.

For 'spring ale'. I put the outer barrel in the garden with a hose in it, and trickle cold water through it, removing the heat from the inner vessel. Its not as efficient as a coil, but it gets the wort from 90C to 30C in about 45 minutes.

One of some promo shots I did for a friend who has made these mugs. The premise being If you could pick one thing us brits are world class at, it is making a brew. So in this jubilee year, be proud of our talent for tea, coffee or any other hot beverage you care to name!

If you like the mugs and would like to support my friend you can pick one up here.

First time visiting the Defiant Brewing Company in Pearl River. I thought the place was a little odd when I first walked in the door, it's basically the back end of a brewery where they have a bar set up. The beer you order comes directly out of the big vats. It was pretty cool, I'll probably go back there again.

Started brewing beer with my roommates. Obviously we needed a logo.

Chris found this on Ebay. It's a bottlecap crimping tool for home brewers.

My second event was a ticket raffle at Brew Werks offered by U93 the radio station. They were raffling tickets to go see the Chainsmokers. I decided to go with my friends to see if we would win. A good amount of people showed up. One ticket was picked every thirteen minutes and the winner got two tickets. At the end, for those who stayed, additional tickets were being offered to those who won a dance off.

I used my iPhone 6 to take this photo. The aperture was f/2.2 and the shutter speed was 1/60. The ISO was 40.

The natural sunlight allowed me to take this photo. I decided to take it from this angle because you can see all or most of the people that attended and were waiting for their nae to be called. You can also see the name of the place and some context as to where it is.

It has depth because you can see who is at the front and who is at the back. You can see that the area is medium sized outside a restaurant. There is the law of interposition. There is a lot of red, warm color. This makes the photo stand out more. I would say there is a stable virtual weight. There are equal amount of people on either side of the photo.

Gestalt theory can also be applied here. It is hard to tell who at each table is related to each other or know each other because they are scattered. In the background you can tell that the people at the table standing up are in the same group. You can infer that they are the people in charge of the ticket raffle.

Cognitive theory wise there is some nervousness as people wait for the name to be called. You would expect the people to be excited but they seen somewhat calm and nervous. From the words on the boards you can tell this photo was taken at Brew Werks in South Bend and in next to a place that is for sale.

There is not much symbolism here. The red can symbolize the anxiousness as people wait and possibly some anger from those who did not get their name called out. The poster on the table is symbolizing what the event is.

When West Sixth Brewing finally found a suitable home at the old Rainbo Bread Company building, the owners decided to lease the rest of the large space to local non-profits and small businesses. The complex became known as The Bread Box and West Sixth has been rising ever since. Kentucky drinkers can now find dozens of their beers (in cans and bottles + on draft) that can be consumed at the brewery in Lexington, in the taproom in Louisville, and on the farm in Frankfurt. If they happen to visit the brewery on the first Saturday of each month, then 6% of their sales will even go to a local non-profit through the Sixth for a Cause program.

The temperature and festive vibe could not have been any better at the 4th Annual Annual Rhythm Wine and Brews Experience on February 28th 2015 at the Empire Polo Club.
