March 3, 2012 - St-Ambroise Apricot Wheat Ale from la Brasserie McAuslan Brewing Inc. in Montreal, Quebec. This one has always come in a 341 mL industry-standard bottle with a screw-off cap.
Simplicity is the best. A lovely light wheat ale with just enough hops and just enough of an apricot taste hit the palate with a nice clean balance of flavours. A little sweet, a little bitter with none of those awful coriander or clove spices that are sometimes in a wheat ale. One of my favourites.
Grind: Extra Fine (Small Circles & Effect: Sharpen), Brew: Tripstamatic (Full Pic & Darkest Blended Circles), Serve: Black (Rise-n-Shine Tone & Coffee Filter Texture)
After 6 months or so (this particular bottle was made almost 10mths ago), the yeast would have done its work, producing delicious, sweet taipai (rice wine) at the bottom, and leaving a mushy alcholic rice paste at the top for desserts.
Port Townsend Brewing Company Hop Diggity IPA. American IPA. A nice light medium hoppy IPA. 5.5% ABV.
A good one for a work night. :)
