Twine is strung horizontally across the bottom of the trellis; from that line vertical pieces head up to the cross bar. Each of four or the five vertical strings get three of the strongest hop bines assigned to them. The remaining bines are pruned.
The cross bars are at six feet, so maintenance and harvesting are very easy (unless you're vertically challenged).
The last of the spring daffodils and grape hyacinth can be seen in the background.
Just about 2 mins into the brew time and time to get rid of the heat! I found that stopping the brew at 2 mins (with this grind anyway) makes for roughly 4 mins total brew time (i.e. until the last of the coffee has been vacuumed though the bed of grinds) which resulted in a very rounded, sweet cup with all those lovely floral and berry notes well retained.

"Hey....what are you doing?! Why are you drawing a picture on your notebook?!! You should be studying something!" How many times have you heard that scream during grade school, junior/senior high school or college? Well I seemed to bring the kid back in this latest piece done on the iPad. Compared to the last iPad illustration featuring a Fisker Karma, this time I learned how to draw a car engine bay of a Ford Mustang. Now the background template I used is the white notebook paper which gives the drawing it's "drawn at a study hall" look. Oh the name....well the drawing is set in Milwaukee and as you can faintly tell, the building in the back is the old Pabst brewery.
