Orlando Brewing is the local beer. These hand-crafted organic ales and lagers are already available in select bars and restaurants across Central Florida. Many more are coming aboard. And, of course, you can always wet your whistle right here at the Tap Room.
Orlando Brewing is Florida’s only certified organic brewery. What does it mean to be organic? It means that ingredients used in crafting our ales are grown without insecticides, bioengineering, or irradiation.
Orlando Brewing brews in accordance with the German Purity Law of 1516. That means we use only natural, organic ingredients.

This week, Brandon and Zach spent a couple days checking out a bunch of the great breweries and brew pubs on the Maine Beer Trail. Their mission: deliver Maine Beer Trail brochures and have a heck of a good time enjoying the Trail. Brandon was the tour guide and Zach (who is visiting Maine from Iowa) was the official staff photographer and beer taster.
Their journey began at Shipyard Brewing Company in Portland where they loaded their car full of brochures and headed south to their first stop: the Shipyard Brew Pub in Eliot, just outside Kittery. This is the first brew pub you hit when you cross into Maine from New Hampshire.
Next up: Federal Jack’s Restaurant and Brew Pub in Kennebunk and the new Run of the Mill Pub in Saco. Both of these pubs are in beautiful settings. Federal Jack’s overlooks Kennebunkport Harbor and Run on of the Mill is on Saco Island in a newly refurbished mill.
They stopped at the new Sea Dog Brewing Company in South Portland to see the amazing Cap Dog art and check out a brew then it was off to Sebago Brewing Company by the Maine Mall before heading onward to Portland, where they visited Sebago Brewing Company, Allagash Brewing, D.L. Geary Brewing, and Gritty’s.
The next day they headed north with stops at Gritty’s in Freeport and Auburn, Sea Dog Brewing Company in Topsham, and The Liberal Cup in Hallowell. Phew!
There’s more to the trail as you head further north and up the coast, including: Sea Dog Brewing Company in Bangor, Atlantic Brewing Company in Bar Harbor, and Kennebec River Pub & Brewery in The Forks. You also won’t want to miss The Inn on Peaks Island in Casco Bay (just a 5 minute ferry ride from Portland) and, during ski season, the Shipyard Brew Haus at Sunday River and Sugarloaf.
Download a free Maine Beer Trail map at mainebrewersguild.org. Cheers for Maine beer!
Square Mile Ethiopia Yirgacheffe being brewed on the V60-these guys didn't even bother to rinse the papers before starting and damn I wish I could say I could taste the difference... May be due to the relatively high dose of coffee (40g ish).

I took the photo at Kyoto Daimaru department store. And I used AC CLOSE-UP LENS No.3.
A composite image of six photos taken from the same spot, each using a different film camera. The individual photos have been collaged in photoshop. In this case the cameras were:
Lomo LC-W and Agfamatic 5008 pocket macro
The taproom at Bomber Brewing in Vancouver, BC, also featured a Randall for infusing beer with more flavor. See this link for more info on Randall.
On the day of my visit it was the Bomber ESB that was infused, using the Randall, with sour cherries and vanilla.
The February Bards & Brews Open Mic event featured beer samples provided by Band of Brothers Brewing out of Tuscaloosa and a crowd of 107.
Next month's Bards & Brews will be held on March 4th and will also be at the Central Library downtown

Not just for summer… I’ve always loved the temporary “artwork” created by the half-n-half when it’s first poured into cold brewed coffee.
Tom, Adrian and I brewed 2 10 gallon batches today. Batch one was a porter and batch two was a weizenbeir. This photo was a tasting of beers we have brewed over the last few years. I went into the "beer closet" which I now share with my daughter, and found a few oldies that we popped open.
