The Aronitic Blessing in Hebrew in the Lutheran Congregation House in Jaffa, photographed in 1976. In the King James English Bible, it reads:
"The Lord bless thee, and keep thee; The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee; The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace." (Numbers 6, 24-26).

With great joy, the Catholic community of St. Luke University Parish in Allendale celebrated the blessing of their newly constructed church on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017. Bishop Walkowiak celebrated Mass with a blessing of the church joined by current pastor Father Bill Vander Werff, former pastor Father Brad Schoeberle, CSP, and former associate pastor Father Chuck Cunniff, CSP, along with numerous other priests of the diocese.
Father Bill thanked the faithful of the parish, the many generous donors, and offered special thanks to Father Brad, Father Don Andre, CSP, and Father Chuck who served the parish over 10 years, helping to plan for and overseeing construction of the new church.
In the parish bulletin Father Bill wrote: "This church is a place where we encounter the Lord most intimately
and completely in this life through the Holy Mass. The ongoing challenge is
to continue to grow in holiness, to continue to grow closer to the Lord, and to
evangelize our community. May we always be guided by the Holy Spirit as we
go forward, and continue to seek the intercession of our patron, Saint Luke,
and our Blessed Mother Mary."
St. Luke also serves Catholic students on the campus of GVSU.
