Blessing Ceremony and Hungbao Acceptance before Festival.
Cap Go Meh Festival (Wan Long Yuan Xiao Jie) Bandung 2011
Simple blessings can be found when you see the world through the right lens. My wife does many little things to give a warm feel to our home. Here a rag doll lit by a single candle sits on our dresser.
This picture was taken in Nara. Before we entered into the Todaiji Temple our group made blessings together. The smell and the smoke of the incenses blesses our brain and and our soul. It is said that the smoke make one person smarter. Together our Advisor, Manju Parikh, and the group made a blessing for all of us to be brighter and smarter students for years to come.

Blessing of the foundations of a new six floor apartment building in Chiang Mai Thailand by Brahmin priest. Buddhism exists side-by-side with, and to some extent intermingles with, pre-Buddhist animism and Brahman practices. Most Thais, whether or not they profess to be Buddhists, believe in a rich supernatural world. When ill, or at other times of crisis, or to seek supernatural help, Thais may enlist the aid of a practitioner who is believed to be able to propitiate or obtain help from various spirits. Local spirits are believed to inhabit a variety of objects, and shrines to them may be found in houses, businesses in Buddhist temples, along roads, and in forests. Blessing ceremonies to ward off evil spirits and bad luck are carried out both by Buddhist monks and Brahmins.

Tought: Happiness is one of those little things that changes everything, without really changing anything. Just being happy about one thing makes everything better!

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence."

Blessing of the Sun/Birkat haHama, 2009/5769.
We're not actually blessing the sun, but rather blessing G!d, for the sun's continuous presence. Birkat haHama reminds us that our lives function within the larger cycles of nature and the earth.

this is inspired by this song that I keep looping....
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the achings of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise
~ "Blessings"- Laura Story
