The hexagonal blocks were arranged by sucking them toward a point attractor.

I love cooking, home repair, art, photography, car repair, etc.
We always prefer the right tool for the job.
This tool is used mainly for mixing eggs for an omelet.

I used poster board for the background. I know, left the warning sticker on the glass-doh!

Up late and following along to Blender tutorials. I'm about 90% finished with this and pretty happy with the results so far.
That's it then. Finished this model. Much learned so perhaps the next image will be more realistic...
Modelled in Blender 2.93 and rendered in Cycles <250 passes>.
Smoke added in Ps.
Subtle differences to V1. The road no longer floats, the buildings are now as near as I can make them to their actual heights (at least when the LIDAR data was collected), given them roofs and colour, added some refinements to the grass textures, and I've added a conifer or two into my lo-res, lo-poly trees (or blobs as they ought to be called). Lost some of the shine from my water which I'll have to look at. I also removed an erroneous bit of stream which is probably a culvert (I thought it looked a bit straight). Far from perfect, but getting there.
Road may be a tad wide now and I probably need more trees.
Some new skills learned even for this version in both GIS and Blender.
Not quite sure what I did wrong, but my first Mecabricks render ended up somewhat underwhelming. The transparent pieces aren't transparent, these no shininess to the bricks and it just lacks that realism I've seen from renders from people like Alex Sonny and Loek (I never expected anything like what you get from Gabriele of Nick himself). Still took 7 hours. Hmmm...more practice needed I guess.
p.s.the out-of-focus-iness was done afterwards on PAINT.net.
Created in Blender with the help of one of Blender Guru's excellent YouTube tutorials.

Designed to rapidly respond to security threats across corporate space, the Whiplash fleet saw extensive service across Imyr.
The Whiplash was a response to irritating, profit-reducing pirate raids along the shipping lanes to Campria, and as such prioritized speed and situational awareness over bulk and heavy weapons. It served well in this roll, and was produced in-system in some numbers under license by Nebulite Mining after the initial purchase from Sungdai spaceyards.

Blender photo taken with the Koroll 24 camera that I previously used in week 132 of my 52 film cameras in 52 weeks project:
www.flickr.com/photos/tony_kemplen/collections/72157623113584240
As the name suggests, this model manages to squeeze 24 exposures out of a roll of 120 film, by using a mask to make the image size 3cm x 4cm. The edges of the film are wasted, but by using the "12 frame" backing paper markings twice, 24 exposures are made.
I removed the mask, so the full width of the film is exposed, and the frames overlap, but if a full frame is desired, the film can simply be advanced twice.
The film was expired Fujichrome Provia ISO100 slide film, which I cross processed in Tetenal C41 chemistry.
A little exercise I started months back, which of course ended up harder and longer than I anticipated.
But this is only half of it, the next step is to composite the dancing robot into live footage next to real people. (and tidy up the movement a little)
I wanted to test Blender out using my latest Mac Mini. Grabbed this great SpaceStation model by NProudlove and paired it with an interesting background. Although the model bogged down the computer, it rendered quickly. Need to try out some of my older models again.
