Der Hausmannsturm ist der älteste heute noch existierende Teil des Dresdner Schlosses und wurde um 1400 in seinen unteren Teilen begonnen. Er befindet sich an der Nordseite des Gebäudekomplexes. Der achteckige Aufbau wird von einer mit Kupfer bedeckten Welschen Haube und einer offenen Laterne samt Spitze gekrönt. Der Turm ist mit seinen 100,27 Metern Höhe eines der markantesten Bauwerke Dresdens und ein beliebter Aussichtspunkt.

The Hausmann Tower is the oldest part of Dresden's Residencial Palace still standing today, with construction on its lower sections beginning around 1400. It is located on the north side of the building complex. The octagonal structure is crowned by a copper-covered 'Italian Hood' and an open lantern with a spire. At 100.27 metres high, the tower is one of Dresden's most striking buildings and a popular vantage point.

It was truly incredible to watch a city like London fade away into a shadow of its former self last year.
But just like humanity, it’s even more incredible to see that energy return, even stronger, more vibrant than ever before - as we all appreciate the world around us just that little bit more.
There’s something really special about seeing the signs of a new beginning, first hand - my only hope is that we’re all able to share in that feeling together as the world, once again, gets that little bit smaller and our horizons grow a whole lot bigger.

Sometimes, highly corrected modern lenses can be far too sharp when emphasizing mood rather than detail. The interest in cameras with low optical performance such as the Holga or pinhole cameras shows this. I'm interested in when sharpness is essential, when less important and when sharpness can be annoying. The above image was taken using a 4.5x6 cm Ikonta with a Novar triplet lens at wide open aperture. Compared to the Holga, this has the advantage that I can set the aperture and exposure time more variably, and compared to a pinhole camera I can take photos handheld, which also increases flexibility. At open aperture, Novars render the center of the image moderately sharp, while the edges and corners slip into blur and also darken. This draws the viewer's eye to the center of the image. Also, the low resolution can emphasize coarse structures or color patterns rather than tiny details, such as the bark or individual leaves of trees. This makes the images pictorial, painterly or impressionistic. Possibly, technical imperfection can be used creatively - at least that's my hope.

The Danaus Chrysippus, also known as the Plain Tiger or African Monarch, is a medium-sized, butterfly widespread in Asia and Africa. It has a wingspan of about 7-8 centimetres. The body is black with many white spots. The wings are tawny, the upper side brighter and richer than the underside. Incidentally the plain tiger is believed to be one of the first butterflies to be used in art. A 3500-year-old Egyptian fresco in Luxor features the oldest illustration of this species.

La "Primavera" fa parte di una serie di opere mitologiche eseguite da Botticelli dopo il suo ritorno da Roma nel 1482. Il dipinto fu commissionato da un cugino di Lorenzo Medici, Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco, che sarebbe diventato un fedele mecenate dell'opera di Botticelli.
Il quadro era appeso nella camera da letto insieme con un'altra opera di Botticelli, "Pallade e il Centauro", ed è elencato in un inventario del contenuto del palazzo fiorentino di Pierfrancesco. Probabilmente è stato dipinto per la celebrazione del matrimonio di Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco de' Medici nel 1482.
L'immagine celebra l'arrivo della primavera ed è pieno di simbolismi mitologici. Venere, dea dell'amore, è al centro di un aranceto, alla sua sinistra Flora, dea dei fiori e della primavera, appare vestita di ghirlande di fiori. Accanto a Flora la ninfa Clori è perseguitata da Zefiro, dio del vento, che ha una passione ardente per lei.
Il poeta romano Ovidio descrive come Clori si trasformi in Flora, dea dei fiori, che simboleggia l'inizio della primavera, e Botticelli ha messo entrambe le figure affiancate all'interno dello stesso dipinto.
Sulla destra di Venere le tre Grazie, compagne della dea dell'amore, svolgono la loro danza per l'inizio della primavera. Accanto alle Grazie, Mercurio, messaggero degli Dei, che ispeziona l'aranceto e protegge il giardino dagli intrusi.
The "Primavera" is one of a series of mythological works executed by Botticelli after his return from Rome in 1482. The painting was commissioned by a cousin of Lorenzo Medici, Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco, who was to become a faithful patron of Botticelli's work.
The picture was hung in the bed-chamber along with another work by Botticelli, "Pallas and the Centaur", and is listed in an inventory of the contents of Pierfrancesco's Florentine palace. It was probably painted as a celebration of the marriage of Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco de' Medici in 1482.
The painting celebrates the arrival of spring and is filled with mythological symbolism. Venus, Goddess of Love, is in the centre of an orange grove on her left Flora, Goddess of Flowers and Spring, appears clad in garlands of flowers. Next to Flora is the nymph Chloris, she is pursued by Zephyrus, God of Wind, who has a burning passion for her. The Roman poet Ovid describes Chloris as transforming into Flora, Goddess of Flowers, symbolising the beginning of spring, and Botticelli has placed both figures side by side within the same painting.
On the right of Venus are The three Graces, female companions of the Love Goddess who perform their dance at the onset of spring. Next to the Graces stands Mercury, Messenger of the Gods, who inspects the orange grove and protects the garden from intruders.

i will be making a toile for the blazer, test garment, as the pattern introduces the collar, pockets and button holes all new techniques for me
