New beginnings are wonderful!

. . . . .

It has been such a long time since I last posted something.

I miss flickr and all my flickr-friends.

But I'm back.

Genesis 1

The Beginning verse 11-13

11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

Blogged: Part 2

Close of the Decade and Beginning of a New One:

Many a beautiful sunrise/ sunset, many dreary pewter coloured skies, many a wave crashing in fury, many a lake placid and surreal, many a hike up mountain sides, many a stroll on calm beaches, sometimes fishing in crowded markets and malls, many significants and insignificants that could have missed the eye, many ups and downs, many exhilarating and disappointing moments, many a turmoil and conflict both within and without; but He is the Lord of them all! Thank God for the decade and I’ll go with the quiet assurance that Christ is my all in all, the author and finisher of my faith.

This was one of my early slide photos. On an afternoon drive I spotted this out of the corner of my eye. I thought it was very telling of the hand of man and our impact on the environment.

New Beginnings races to catch up

The weather has stayed unseasonably warm here so far in September (a few days excepted here and there) and the forecast ahead looks like the trend will continue (no one complaining here!) Despite the temperatures a few trees have decided to lead the pack towards changing colors. I love this particular view, and the 85mm focal length from the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX that I just reviewed was perfect for compressing it a bit and drawing some of those distant elements closer. I wrote an article for Alien Skin's blog about using a telephoto for landscapes (www.alienskin.com/blog/2015/long-range-landscapes/) and you can also read my review of the Sigma here: bit.ly/1JW0JZE

To my dear friends, I am finally announcing a meet-up, lecture and photo shoot taking place September 2 in London! I made it as inexpensive and inclusive as possible and can't wait to share the love!!

Judging by the disproportionate ratio of Zero Year full suit to crossbow suit customs I've seen on Flickr, I have serious doubts that everyone who's made the latter fig has even read the entire event, or can even name who wrote and drew the N52 Batman run off the top of their head. I think this is a good example of how the Flickr Lego community is a little too "follow the leader-ey," in that customs are made simply because other customizers are making them.

Mini-rant aside, here's the very first appearance suit of Batman in the New 52 DC continuity! I tried to replicate the ribbing on Batman's arms and legs with the parts you see in the photo. I'm currently catching up on the entire N52 Batman run (which is absolutely amazing on all counts), and although Zero Year isn't exactly my favorite arc, the kaleidoscopic inks and tense interactions between Bruce and a semi-green Captain Gordon are really enjoyable elements. I'm not sure if Zero Year was fully or partially retconned by Superman: Reborn; hopefully DC will have the brains to publish an updated guide to continuity after this November's Doomsday Clock.

Day 72 - March 13, 2010

Nature's lesson for the day.

Though things may seem chopped off,

There's plenty of room to sprout a new beginning.

Happy weekend everyone!

Un nuevo comienzo con optimismo.

An optimistic new beginning.

I am very passionate with the beauty of trees & this one really caught my eye with its serene

surroundings & the beginning of spring! We are very fortunate to have this spacious, open

land, right in the middle of the city.

Spring has arrived and the Pulsatilla is flowering in the garden. A bit of sunshine has tempted me out into the garden with my camera for the first time in ages!

We were lucky enough to spend the first sunset of the year on this amazing beach.

Grateful.

Don't stand still, be more mobile and allow yourself to go down the pathway of exploration this new year.

One step at a time, one day at a time let yourself walk, run and leap toward new experiences and opportunities that may be ahead beyond the horizon.

Happy and safe travels to wherever life leads you in 2015

I wanted to show the little green shoot among the old trees.

This is the camera that was the beginning of my love affair with photography so many moons ago. ❤️
