There's a hint of colour in this image of the very beginning of the sunset at Keefer Lake. As is often the case, there were clouds on the horizon and the colour of the sunset never appeared - but I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway.

I needed something with the theme 'new beginnings' to have for the weekly theme challenge group and so I found myself scouring this years' folders and this one popped up. If the ripped and shattered bole of a tree torn asunder by a volcanic eruption and hence providing nutrition for new life doesn't fit the bill, what does? :)
I thought the well wishes this year would be more hearty and that this covid thing would be behind us now, but... with the infection rate skyrocketing maybe we will all build up an immunity and by mid year we can start travelling again, idk. In the meantime, stay safe, be healthy, love one another and maybe we can fist bump on the trail some time. Peace, Rich

A new beginning. There is something very special about stepping into a new era. I think, we all occasionally need to experience new beginnings small or larger ones. I certainly do. A fresh start. A change that offers new opportunities. New dreams. New ideas. New hopes. New energy. New chances. A new beginning is like a gift filled with new expectations.
A new beginning can be a choice you make or a choice you are forced to make. The circumstances about a new beginnings decides how it feels. New beginnings isn't always easy. They often leads to losses. Something old may perhaps pass away before something new can take it's place. Perhaps we've to let go of something or someone even though it hurts or we don't want or haven't chosen the change, that forced us to the new beginning.
Maybe we can consider a new beginning like a blank piece of paper. We get a chance to write anything we like. Pick the words of your choice. We needs several pages to filled a chapter. New chapters that then eventually turn into a wonderful book -our life... for better or worse. So fortunately we have the opportunity for many new beginnings and new chances/hopes, if you like, before we've our book ready. We can rewrite our life as often as we want to.
In new beginnings, there is always hope. It's just a matter of believing -in life and in yourself. This book called LIFE is all about you. You have the opportunity to write a lot of your own pages (choices) in that book :o)

At the beginning of my walk this morning I found a dead Large White (Pieris brassicae) Butterfly that had been hit by a car on the road, I retrieved it and placed it on a wall for collection on my return home. I've now had a chance for a closer look........
