1 January 2010. BART train, San Francisco (SFO Airport-Pittsburgh line).
Jacques Binet could have read this:
tq-gj*Z\YC=
Can You?
According to a BART web site I found after Googling the above text, this geeky and cryptic ad was placed by Rovi Corporation (formerly Macrovision, which makes video copy protection systems), and is some sort of ciphertext. The BART people don't know what the ad is actually for, but suspect it's a recruitment-oriented puzzle.
Jacques Binet was a 19th century French mathematician; among other things, he found a closed form formula for the Fibonacci numbers (but this isn't that equation).

Coming back to San Francisco at about 10pm. Their expressions all say "What is that crazy guy doing?"
One of many islands in the Caribbean Sea, St. Bart’s stands out with its blend of French chic and island relaxation. With beautiful secluded beaches, fine French cuisine, and gracious hotels, this tropical playground is popular with the Jet Set. The 8-mile-long (13-kilometer-long) island is edged by 20 beaches and small coves for swimmers and sunbathers, with sparkling water and white sand.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure to meet these two wonderful gentlemen.
I'll never forget this memorable occasion !
