When I looked out of my balcony window the other day, I found this "new species" of bird in the tree (Bart? ;-) )
Said he wanted to "make friends" with the finches...
Good luck!

The "blank" southwest-facing side of the station, which has never been used as an entrance. It never occurred to me before I checked out this one wide-angle shot that the structure looks kind of like a flying saucer.

Taking the BART train to SFO, and a quick token photo in the open air at Balboa Park station. BART is Bay Area Rapid Transit, a subway system introduced in 1972 to connect San Francisco with San Jose and Oakland, serving San Francisco International Airport (SFO) as well. The trains run on an Indian broad gauge (5ft 6in, 1676mm) track, giving the cars a noticeably wider look. The leading unit in the train here is a C Car, built by Alstom (as seen here) and Morrison-Knudsen between 1987-96, recognisable by their flat-fronted profiles compared with the sloping fronts of the earlier A and B cars. These units are all in course of replacement by new-generation trains built by Bombardier.

The Golden Gate Bridge BART ad also includes a larger color version of this image, but without identifying the location. The houses and apartments shown don't seem to correspond to any actual identifiable buildings on Hearst.
ran into this guy yesterday in one of the underground pasageways of the Montgomery St BART station. unlike some of the people we get down there, he was really good and was belting out soulful blues as loud as he could. i listened for a bit, dropped a buck into his case and pulled out the old polaroid 600. when he saw it he flashed me the biggest smile, like, i can't believe that you're going to take my picture with that!
i love 'Roid week.
