Vor und nach der Bearbeitung.

I altered this small wooden box I bought at Michaels. I painted it pink and added some rose rub-ons. I added some faux pearls around the top edge.

Simple gesso and watercolor crayon background, with number stamps, rub-on letters and scraps of paper for the shoe.

On October 18, 2023, the LBJ Library held An Evening With Heather Cox Richardson, historian and author of the daily newsletter Letters from an American. Cox Richardson discussed her new book, Democracy Awakening, a vital narrative that explains how America, once a beacon of democracy, now teeters on the brink of autocracy -- and how we can turn back. Mark Lawrence, Director of the LBJ Presidential Library, moderated the conversation.

Heather Cox Richardson is a professor of history at Boston College and an expert on American political and economic history. She is the author of seven books, including the award-winning How the South Won the Civil War. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Guardian, among other outlets. Her widely read newsletter, Letters from an American, synthesizes history and modern political issues.
